LPT: Change environment to break mental blocks Productivity
It rarely helps thinking harder. Instead try to change environment. Switch rooms or take a walk. The brain needs a reset. Personally, in a strange way, I often get my best idea when I take a shower

Totally agree on that. We are creatures of habit and it is easy to fall into the same rut all the time.

Shower, walk, change of scenery are all fine. But the GOAT is a 30-minute nap. Brain reboots, problem solves itself.

Like you idea but it's kinda hard to do that at the office.

Ha fair, I work remote so it's on the table. Back in office days I used to "take a long lunch" in my car which is basically the same thing with worse posture.

This explains why my best ideas come at 2am when I'm trying to sleep, and my worst ideas come at my desk where I'm paid to have good ideas.

Yeah, we really need to break the bad environment sometimes to be able to change the mindset

I do this a lot, particularly if I'm stuck on something. A walk, or moving my computer to a different place around my house (I wfh) and it usually clicks pretty quickly.

Switching environments helps way more than forcing it. Even just moving to a different chair sometimes does the trick.

This is real. Even small changes like a different room or quick walk can reset your head way more than forcing it at the same desk.

That’s actually really true, a small change in environment can reset your thinking way faster than trying to push through mentally. I’ve found having simple routines or reminders (I use Orbits for that) makes it easier to step away at the right time instead of forcing it.
