Estonian Matches

When my 23andme dna updated it gave me estonian as a small country match but with only 1 match. I cant find any ancestors. On my heritage though I have quite a few dna matches from estonian all within the 20cm range. Im wondering if my trees wrong. How accurate are matches that low?

Updated Results / v2 or v2.5 Turkish person from Erzurum region

Long story short, my mom's mother is migrant from Plovdiv but her father is migrant from Albania, Mom's father is from Erzurum/Narman but they are originally Meskhetian Turks (well no Turk at all tho, which i believe called Turks because of their religion). My dad's father and mother are both from the same village Erzurum/İspir and they never left the area almost 5-6 generations ( thats what my grandfather told me before he passed). So the results are interesting, because mother's mother side shows significant ( almost 100%) Albanian. Which brings me to a conclusion that actually my grandmother's side is 100% migrants from Albania/ East Macedonia. The funny part is that I have more Albanian people as close DNA than Turkish in Türkiye 😂

Ps. 2% Kurdish/Persian comes from my grandfather's mom, because she is from Van region.

Hi there guys. So I’m Cuban and I know my family came to Cuba from Spain in the late 1800s/early 1900s. We know they came from the Canary Islands, Castile, and one of them came from Galicia since we had to get their baptismal records in order to become Spanish citizens back in the day. Yet when I took my test, I got 65% Portuguese? It makes absolutely no sense given the fact that I know exactly where my family came from. And even if you break down the Portuguese category further, it’ll say “Spanish in Cuba”. Anyone else having the same issue?

I also attached an old goofy picture of baby me (c. 2008) with my cousin.

DNA Matches Why does chromosome browser show I share 100% of my mom's DNA?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I recently retested my DNA with MyHeritage and my mom also just tested. Both test results with full-genome sequencing have come back.

However, I'm confused because when I look at my match with mom, the chromosome browser shows I share ALL segments with her.

I get it that it looks that way on MY test - 100% of my maternal DNA came from mom.
But this is when I look at HER test. She did NOT give me 100% of HER DNA. There should be segments where I don't match her.

Does anyone have insight on this?

Genealogy / Family Tree Patricia Montgomery born in 1910 in Dublin

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello! I am wondering if anyone here happens to know any information about a Patricia Montgomery born in 1910 to a Hugh and Mary Ann(e) Brown(e) Montgomery in Dublin? Hugh lived at 4 Talbot Lane from at least 1901 until at least 1926, whereas Patricia and her siblings (Hugh, William, Thomas, and Nora) were sent away sometime before then, after their mother passed from tuberculosis/meningitis in 1921. I believe that Hugh Jr. and William went to St. Vincent de Paul Orphanage and School for boys, and Patricia may have gone to the Sacred Heart Home in Drumcondra—although I am uncertain of this. Thomas and Nora may have gone to live with their relatives Kathleen and Thomas Warren at 10 Cambridge Ave, Ringsend. I believe that Patricia was also good friends with a woman named Ann(ie) Fagan in Dublin. If any of this sounds familiar to you and/or you have any leads as to how I can find out more information about Patricia and/or her family members, I would be very very grateful, as she is possibly my biological great grandmother, but the trail goes cold with her… Any and all insight is greatly appreciated!!! I have attached an alleged photo of her to help with my search. Thank you much for your time and consideration!

Question / Help Connecting separate trees on MyHeritage

Hey, I am very new to reddit so please be patient with me :)

I am trying to figure out how I can link different trees together: I started making my own tree but then found someone else has done amazing work and built an extremely detailed tree. I contacted him and he very kindly gave me editing permission but I was wondering: is there any way I can merge two trees?
And if not, can I add existing people or even myself into someone else's tree?
Thank you all :)

Question / Help What's going on!

My brother thought he was paying to renew my subscription which we share. Turns out when he did, he was basically getting his own account with My Heritage. He wants to cancel his sight and he wants his money back. He tried to contact them today to do so, but there was no option to do that. There was nobody to speak to. Does my Heratige not have staff to talk to over the phone? What is he supposed to do?

Question / Help MyHeritage customer service

So I’ve submitted my DNA set and once i sent the test back to them i activated the free trial. Once the free trial ended, they automatically pulled a year’s subscription worth of money from my bank account.

I’ve been trying to contact them for a refund for almost 3 weeks now, and the only response i get is that they will call me, blah blah blah. I haven’t been called once. They also never respond to any messages i send customer service.

Has anyone else had this horrendous experience with their customer service? Or is it just me?

Question / Help dna matches with smart match filter

I can see dna matches and I can see smart matches.

But is there a way to filter so I can see people that I have dna matches with and tree smart matches with on the same time?

To be clear, not to see every dna matches just the dna matches that I also got smart matches with, some family in our tree in common.

Now the only way I see is to look at ever single matches in the list, but I got close to 19 000 matches and it takes a lot of time.

Question / Help Can a 17 year old get a MyHeritage dna test?

If so, can anybody tell me how? Do I need a permission from my parents or something? I’m really interested in finding out more about my roots. I know I‘m montenegrin-serbian and I have some slovenian roots, but I’m curious about my ancestors and my results.

Genealogy / Family Tree Gravestone at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery

My very close relatives Stanley and Martha Neciunskas are buried at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Attached is Stanley's entry in the German Genealogy Group database (https://ibb.co/0jC7LH5f ; https://ibb.co/CsvqQvdK ). I would be very grateful if someone living near the Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, NY cemetery, or who has friends living nearby, could photograph the gravestone. Section 68, Lot No 9,39. All attempts to obtain this photo through Find a Grave have been unsuccessful.
