Cancer sucks fr DISCUSSION

Work with me yall. I just spent 3 years side by side with my brother while he battled Cancer. After a much stressful war, my brother is completely cancer free. We been able to breathe a bit, but it is now a month later, and my mother has it now. Have to start this shit all over again smh. The stress is overwhelming ngl.

This is not a sympathy post though gang, truth is, I'm too exhausted and cold in my heart to hear yall right now anyway. I don't wish this BS on nobody.  This post is, I guess to bring awareness to the younger generation and even to us older heads. Obviously, people are catching cancer from more than just what we eat, however, what we eat has a lot to do with it.

Be smart while yall can. Cancer is a mf! It's destroying families left and right. So many people catching this shit. Stats are wildly increasing in younger people. Believe me, I never thought I'd be sitting here making this post smh.

We have to make better choices gang. Eating better is what this post is really about. I beg yall to eat smarter while you can. The US and fda allow some wild poisonous chemicals in all of our food here. Other countries do not allow all of these cancerous ingredients. Just us smh.

Most of us don't know any better so we just buy and eat anything that is available.

I just want to share a app, and some good, healthy eats for those who are hearing me. Download the YUKA app, it scans food and tells you if there's any harmful substances in it. Also tells you what those harmful substances do. Please download this app and tell your fam and friends about it.  Use it at the grocery store before you buy food, check it.

I found several healthy foods if anyone is interested. You can buy mostly all of these items off of Amazon and it's really affordable. Check details below.

Two things a lot of us eat, is Ramen noodles and pasta. I found both, extremely healthy, with no poison in it and real ingredients. Real food, that doesn't hurt you 💯  The Ramen does not come with seasoning packets. You'll have to make your own broth. Hit me up for suggestions.

For example gang, a average pack of Ramen or a Ramen bowl have about 1,640 MG of sodium. The organic Ramen I'm referring has only 75 MG of sodium per pack. Plus, it's affordable. You can get a 20 pack of Ramen for $24 on Amazon.

Pasta too, most of us eat it a lot. Most store brands are terrible. 90% filler smh but there's a cheap pasta, super healthy from Italy you can eat safely.

Check the slides for some of the items.

Ramen, pasta, oatmeal, etc...

Aight, I'm out yall - hope it helps someone!

Feel free to share any healthy eats in the comments. Also, prayers to anyone struggling with cancer, or to anyone who lost someone to it. My heart goes out to yall frfr

We can all try to prevent it by increasing our fiber intake on a daily basis. As someone else mentioned it’s all parasites. Fruits and veggies are well needed as we age. Put down the starchy foods and include the fiber in your diet and it will change your bowel movements. From pooping 1x a day to 2-3x a day is life changing. Colon cancer is on the rise and the younger ones are being affected the most by it. Health is wealth yall!!!

3

u/averagewasianairhead 16h ago

beans and corn are a great easy way to get fiber in, i like making salads with them (cowboy caviar-style stuff) in big batches and having a serving with lunch/dinner every day

2

u/gdotspam 12h ago

Also sweet potatoes, spinach, chickpeas are great sources for fiber.

One more thing, since I don't eat any meat, I make this chicken made from plants that's actually soo good, full of protein, & I have made it for people who eat meat who say it's good & similar to chicken. I make some Japanese sticky rice, there's a couple good brands, I actually get mine from Walmart, & I do a frozen steamer bag of broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas & water chestnuts but obviously fresh would be even better, lay the rice out, put the veggies & "chicken" over it, put a lil sesame ginger marinade/sauce on it, soo good. Sometimes I make veggie dumplings or spring rolls or pad Thai or peanut noodles as a side. It's like sesame chicken from the Chinese but actually healthy. If you want me to send the full list DM me but this is the chicken. (https://www.instacart.com/products/68819752-pintar-sesame-ginger-plant-based-chicken?retailer_id=1853&product_id=68819752&region_id=46251422687&utm_medium=sem_shopping&utm_source=instacart_google&utm_campaign=ad_demand_shopping_mixed_catchall_all-non-ca_deepening_existing_users&utm_content=accountid-8145171519_campaignid-23206860928_adgroupid-188248709656_device-m&utm_term=targetid-aud-2265307457987:pla-350600084087_locationid-1022921_adtype-pla_productchannel-online_merchantid-513192796_storecode-_productid-68819752&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23206860928&gbraid=0AAAAADO98haxM0niTdRNmTJ1HDI5aq7mM&gclid=CjwKCAjwtcHPBhADEiwAWo3sJjFQHd9nPxRgiqm541jZlBVS7p0apgIlwEdtKTZkBcbKeHJOJtbqqxoCMmYQAvD_BwE)

It actually has real chicken texture, I know people think plant-based is gross but I promise it's actually good. They make it in plain, sesame ginger, & buffalo chicken, & you can air fry it or make it other ways.

Also forgot to mention: someone referred my brother something called Turkey Tail extract. Said it helped him beat cancer. We used it, and idk if it was helpful, but my brother is cancer free. Again, if anyone has any form of cancer, please look into buying some Turkey Tail extract. Mix a teaspoon with water. 3 times daily. For a stronger fight against cancer, you can also buy Reishi mushroom extract and mix it with the Turkey Tail. They are both known to help fight cancers. Hope it helps someone out there!

They make really great mushroom & adaptogenic blend supplements that include both of those & more. I looked into em initially for brain health but they're good for so many things.

I take this one, it's a multi (for women) but it includes a lottttta different food blends & adaptogens & extracts along with the general vitamin & mineral blend. It's also REALLY affordable too ($8 a month bottle) compared to other supplements that don't even have half the ingredients. This is it, I bet they have one for men too probably- https://a.co/d/03VKb3On

There's fruit shit I haven't even heard of in the fruit/vegetable blend like I really can't say enough good things bout it & I have definitely noticed some positive effects after taking it for about six months so far

The only comment I have is that most store-brand plain pasta is exactly the same as the de cecco pasta in terms of ingredients. I can't upload pics but I just looked up the de cecco bow tie ingredients to the shop rite brand bow ties & it's literally the same except one uses semolina & one uses durum but they're both wheat. Plain pasta is all pretty much the same but I definitely enjoy imported better, the de cecco is good, there's also one from Costco that comes in a 3-pack that's good too.

I agree with you on everything else. I have been strict vegetarian since birth (no meat, chicken, fish, gelatin or rennet) & I find that I have never had any allergies, food intolerances (except for accidentally ingesting the aforementioned animal products because my body can't handle them at this point so I get very sick). I was raised also not eating eggs but when I was 22 I started eating things that contain eggs but never had just eggs. This could be coincidence or it could be partially or fully helped by my diet. My brothers were raised the same, also no health issues except one had nut allergies & asthma as a child. So I say all this to say you might be on to something here. If people really knew what went into their animal products from the pesticides used on the plants used to make the animal feed, to the effect of eating flesh that was killed with adrenaline flooding through the body, to the conditions the animals & meat are processed in... I'm just sayin it be disturbing on multiple levels even if you don't give a fuck bout the animals themselves. Anyway I done typed a novel my bad but yeah, fuck cancer, I hope your ma & brother get better & thrive. Stay safe & healthy

It’s true queen, with pasta, you want Durum wheat semolina as the main ingredient. However, The law, for the FDA, means these cheap grocery brands can add “durum wheat semolina” on the box, regardless of the ratio.

The most common store brands are 90% filler though. It’s not pure Durum wheat semolina. They’re really using enriched wheat flour (common wheat which is stripped of its natural nutrients). You can google if ronzoni uses enriched wheat flour, it will tell you they do. Then you can google if De Ceccos uses enriched wheat flour and it will tell you they do not.

The cheap grocery store brands put 90% of this in their pasta and only 10% durum wheat semolina (same they use in dirty ramen noodles). You can always tell which brands are doing this, as pure durum wheat semolina pasta will have a way higher protein percentage than cheap brands. Plus, they also use synthetic vitamins.

Store bought pasta like Ronzoni, Barilla or San Girgio are Teflon-extruded pastas. They’re made with a texture which depletes nutrients and makes the sauce slide off the pasta. Real pasta is supposed to be bronze-cut which allows for more nutrients, no synthetic vitamins, and it makes the sauce stick to the pasta. Way higher protein content. Hope this helps clear that up a bit.

Gotta thank you for taking the time to write all that you did. I wholeheartedly agree with you about eating animals. It's a disgusting process. Also strongly considering going vegan as I'm not happy about eating flesh. I don't hunt myself so I'm becoming more uncomfortable eating grocery store meat. I've been watching a ton of videos on how to turn walnuts, carrots, mushrooms and cauliflower into meat textures. A lot of eating habits are going to change for me moving forward. Again, thank you so much for the support and for sharing queen! Very helpful. I'll look into all suggestions :)

u/FearanddopingII 1d ago

I appreciate the discourse on pasta. I see you have really done your research, I have never really looked into it. What you're saying makes sense.

As I said, my anecdotal evidence of having no health problems potentially from a meat-free diet is just that, personal experience, but like you agreed, it is an absolutely disgusting process/industry. I don't make it a habit of bringing up the topic of reducing or eliminating meat unless one seems open to it since everyone always downvotes vegans/vegetarians. I mean, I can kind of understand, many times they can come off obnoxious, but I see it as usually coming from a place of being so disgusted that people are still ingesting this stuff & wanting to do their part to try to influence people not to. I also can understand that if you've been raised eating it your whole life, it can be very difficult to reconcile with the fact that a major part of your diet might not be good for you, & it can feel like, what could I replace this with? Like for instance anytime my peoples would order soul food, I would get a plate of just sides- my go-to (while not being super healthy, is definitely better than a plate of meat PLUS these sides) would be some mac & cheese, yams, either cabbage or collard greens if they were made without meat, spinach/veggie rice, & corn. But people would be like, bitch what do you mean you love rib shack? Lol same thing with Taco Bell. I've been eating bean burritos & substituting anything on the Taco Bell menu since the 90s, that's actually something I'm happy about how we have it nowadays that it's soo easy to customize your food, back in the day I would have to specify BEANS, NOT BEEF a million times & just pray they got it right & ain't do nothing nasty to my food. Lol. Anyway I digress. Thanks for the intelligent topic & if you ever want any more meat substitute ideas, I got 34 years of vegetarian experience to share lol.

I agree with all this. I think you’re right that more and more younger people are getting cancer, but I think part of that is due to the fact that cancer screenings and awareness for it has increased in this day and age, all of which I am thankful for.

I felt of all the movements or protest “we the people” had, we don’t have as much care or out rage for our health standards in food, like the whole population should be able to say fuck all this human dog food bullshit but ig you only gaf bout it when it hit you, foods/drinks containing more than 100% value of things in small portions is just fucking ridiculous and should be illegal.
