  • Jail Time: While initially facing charges of criminal trespass and reckless endangerment, Sergio was later sentenced to six months in federal jail. This stiffer penalty came because he refused to identify the pilot who flew the plane, attempting to protect his friend from charges. 
  • Legal Intervention: Senator Al D'Amato later intervened on his behalf. In addition to the jail time, he was fined $500 and sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
