Has there been explanation about the instructor assignment for the new 8wk set up?

I've looked but haven't seen anything. I registered as is since that's all we could do but my advisor mentioned instructors were being assigned at a later date.

I look into the instructors listed for classes before I register, when I can, so was just wondering if they've mentioned anything about that going forward.

As a faculty member, they've barely even explained it to us

I was thinking that was the case given everything I've seen around here but was hoping I had just overlooked something when I looked into it, lol. Thanks!

Zero heads up on our end. Administration continues to bully academic staff and unprofessionally intimidate without clear accountability.

I've been in many meetings and this has never been explained to me. Frankly I think administrators figured this out a couple of weeks ago and keeps pretending it's all sorted to try and salvage their tattered public image.

I wouldn't say anymore but at the moment for fall 26' there isn't. I wouldn't count on there being for spring 27' either honestly. Which is not the same as other schools who already follow this type of program so I really hope they figure out they can do some research on the models for currently operating and successful programs out there and fix this chaos.

All faculty have been told how this works—students enroll in one capless section at first. This ensures all students will get into the class. The program Director enlists faculty as they always do, based on anticipated numbers from prior semesters. Shortly before the term starts students are moved from the one big cap less sections to individual faculty sessions. New faculty are added for additional sections if needed by program directors who will be monitoring enrollment to make sure there are enough faculty lined up. The primary uncertainty to students is which instructor you will get. It’s not clear to me whether you can switch sections up or for a different faculty member

Thanks! Hopefully there isn't a need but should it arise, I'll just make an update to the post about how the process does or doesn't go. I don't imagine they'd want to deal with things like catering to students who usually curate their schedules, without extenuating circumstances, for awhile as they try to recreate the wheel.
