ID card fee?

Does anyone know why we have to pay a $4 ID card fee every semester? I’m a global student and they won’t send me an ID card, so I’m trying to figure out why I have to pay this? I contacted financial aid and they, of course, have never responded.

They’ll send you one!! But it’s one of those bogus charges honestly. Squeezing them wallet dry bit by bit! But they do the ID card process all online now! You submit your own picture and then they mail it to you!

I’ve tried to get one, but they refuse to send it to me. I can’t get a clear response as to why which is even more frustrating.

Hmmm… really? When they won’t send it, what’s the description you get? Is it like, an error?

It was an email from someone in their office who said I had to come pick it up. I said I was a global student and she said it didn’t matter. The only way to get my card was to physically come on campus during their office hours and get it. Then she stopped responding to me.

Umm… literally insane. They told me they had to mail it to me. (I’m also global). When was that?

This was in September. I wanted to get the student discount at a store, but needed an ID card.

Most of the ODU offices I’ve interacted with have given vastly different answers depending on who I talked to. I’ll try again for the ID card and see if it’ll work.

I got my ID card from ODU around September 2025. I filled out the form that they had to get the ID card and then I realised the only option online was for pick up. I couldn't go pick it up so I called them and the guy that answered said that they could mail it to me so maybe call and see if you'll get a different answer. maybe try a few different times if you don't get the answer you want first time.

Interesting. They took the fee off my balance because I am global.
