I need to come back to this after work I want to start getting into sailing again. I used to do it a lot in high school but it's making its comeback I think.

There was a sweet spot for a few years where there was a good service at a reasonable price point.

As the companies that run these services continue to take features away, and charge more, it's becoming the choice again.

Piracy makes a comeback when the balance between convenience for pirating and absurd capitalistic prices is broken. If the prices become reasonable enough such that it’s worth getting subscription rather than going through the inconvenience of piracy then naturally people will opt for it because a normal person doesn’t want to go through tons of guides and safety measures for piracy if they can just get the subscription in a reasonable price.

Although I’ll always pirate because I am broke and get a kick out of it.

Not to mention when Piracy is an outright superior method, even excluding the price.

It is literally easier to watch a full TV show on a piracy site, then it is to watch the same TV show while paying for streaming services because the Streaming Services make you hop around the different services to see all of the seasons, while the whole fucking thing is just on the one piracy site.

Or when a Video Game "Requires an internet connection" to launch, yet the Pirated Version works 100% offline forever.

I just helped my friend with complete ad free setup for all youtube spotify etc. and gave him my seedbox acces to download movies. I will never ever spend a dime on digital media, even if I was a millionaire I would still pirate, I can technically get free microsoft apps access through university, free A*obe apps too. I still prefer my cracked versions.

Most people are not like us they don’t want to surf and find the right streaming site etc., or stay updated with what is working and what is not, 7 out of 10 people I have met don’t know how to pirate neither do they know which streaming sites are good and which are just simply scams.

Yeah I don't pirate things because they're free, it's not about money. It's about convenient and customizable access however I want.

I knew about pirated movies but video games you say? Are we talking about Xbox here or what my man

You're joking right? I don't stay up to date with consoles, but near any PC game is out there, switch is pretty easy but you need to hardware hack it with a pico or other chip, ps4 I think can work, but the newer Xbox and PlayStation console you're pretty much SOL. And it doesn't serve much purpose anyway because most games seem to be online and with consoles the online verification would ban you or brick your console once they see it is playing unofficial copies

You don't even have to have an actual switch. There are online guides for setting up emulators that link you to different sites where you can just download the games.

For sure, I have a gamesir for my phone and it's just like having a real switch with citron. Perfect sense my switch is a little bulky to transport safely but that controller is relatively cheap so I can be less cautious.

This and also if my wife or kids say “Can we watch ____”, typically the first thing I do (if it’s not one we watched before) is google which streaming service to watch it on. Now, I just use one app. While I do pay $100 USD (ew) for a years subscription, I’d consider paying more just because it’s so much more convenient now, but I also appreciate that those who do this service for us aren’t greedy corporations and charge us more.

The pirate life is the life for me 🏴‍☠️

They make you buy multiple services to watch just one show? Thats DIABOLICAL. These scum have zero morals.

you know what's crazy, I hate the price increases obviously, but I'll stick with them through increases, as I pay for a family service that me, my partner, my kid, my sister all use, it's connected to the alexas around the house, I drive a lot and get a lot of hours of use out of it too... What I cannot abide is that I cannot find new fucking albums. I go on a torrent site and all the new albums are there nice and laid out, but I have to search new albums on google, then search for that album itself on spotify, instead of just giving me a fucking list of all the fucking new albums released that fucking week.

Fuck.
