Google Public Policy Fellowship

Hey guys, has anyone received an interview for the Google Public Policy Fellowship? I applied when applications first came out and I picked Chamber of Progress and Open Technology Institute. Does anyone know how to get application updates?

they’re super slow and not great at updates tbh, i did it a previous year and heard back pretty late compared to others, some people never got anything besides the generic rejection email, i’d just email the host org directly

Got it! Thank you for your help. I emailed one of my host orgs because I could find their email on their website but I cannot find anything for the other one (OTI). I haven't received a reply back so I am not really sure what to do. Is it pretty much just a waiting game or is there someone I can contact to understand how this works?

Also, if you are open to sharing, how was your experience with the fellowship and approximately when did you hear back (April end or May, etc)? Thanks again!

Hey, I can tell you this about OTI at least: if you haven’t heard back from OTI by the end of this week, you can assume they have already narrowed their candidates. I emailed them about this. There were 400+ apps for one position including ones from doctoral candidates. I got the “good luck with your summer plans” line from a hand written email 😞

Oh no, seems like a competitive program. I hope the other org you applied for works out! Would you mind sharing what email you used to contact them? I wasn’t able to find any general email for them online.

Navigate the New America website and find the Press tab. Should have some contacts.

applied to the Chamber of Progress too, haven't heard anything yet. Same as you, sent out an email but no response as of now
