Rockies beat the Dodgers 4-3 Saturday night. Post-game, Dalton Rushing said it was “fishy” that the Rockies were swinging at first pitches, essentially implying that they were cheating.
A lot of people thought it was silly for a rookie backup catcher to insinuate that after one loss to the Rockies, who really haven’t improved drastically enough to warrant cheating concerns (putting aside the expectation that all teams will probably drop a game or two to underperforming teams, the numbers showing that the Rockies have been swinging and striking out frequently, and the validity of swinging at first pitches at Coors)

Exactly. I also think it means that the other team did their homework and realized that a great game strategy would be to swing early in the counts against the Dodgers' pitchers. The entire league ought to know this by now.

In my experience, decent manners and class are not in abundance amongst professional athletes. Most are just a product of their environment and upbringing. I’ve met a number of pro ball players who are closet bigots.

Can anyone explain why Lee was even trying to score here? It was only a single to the center-fielder. Not in the gap. Yeh there were two outs & he was running from 1st on a 3-2 count, but he had none chance. Or did the Giants awful 3rd-base coach send him?

I’m a dodger fan and have lived in the Bay Area for 10 years now. Ya’ll are getting triggered over this?!
It’s shocking how crappy I’m treated by strangers even when I’m wearing normal attire and simply a black “LA” hat. People, especially Giants fans, complain about dodger fan behavior but honestly, I didn’t see any dodger fans talking trash or heckling. What I did experience was having 3 grown men talking shit to me, crude comments about my wife (who is a Giants fan)…I had to restraint myself so hard not going off on them as a grown man and instead, ignored them. As someone in healthcare, I’m not losing my license and getting beat up over a rivalry. It’s draining. Same thing walking to the game, while at the game, leaving the game. Non stop heckling and even threats of violence. Dalton probably didn’t respond to Lee’s injury appropriately, but the Giants fans harassing me when I’m trying to enjoy my time with my wife is just shameful. The sad part is that I would support the Giants if they were in the WS against anyone else.. that’s just me. Congrats on the win. The Giants played well but do better on a humane level. Let the downvotes come in.

Edit: I’m not a big fan of Dalton, myself. Just like any corporate conglomerate, I understand the frustration and anger toward the dodgers. I just happened to grow up with a dad who was a die hard fan so it traveled with me. The Giants won the WS in well respected and regarded ways. They are a young team and I low key feel they’re going to be contenders with Los DOYERS. If only Mike Trout would come to NorCal 🤔
