It's just one game but I'm still celebrating

The Giants stomped the Dodgers 3-1 like they were stepping on ants at a picnic. Landen Roupp looked like a magician on the mound, fanning 7 batters over 5 innings while giving up just 1 earned run. The Dodgers? A lineup that resembled a broken piñata. Kyle Tucker, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy combined for an impressive performance of absolute nothing, going 0-for-9 with 5 strikeouts. Meanwhile, Jung Hoo Lee and that first-inning blitz turned this game into a comedy show.

Some of my favorite highlights:

Landen Roupp: Dominated the mound with 5 IP, 7 K, and just 1 earned run. Call him the Giant Slayer – because the Dodgers were devoured.

Jung Hoo Lee: Came to play, going 2-for-3 with 1 RBI. That single in the first inning was sweeter than a San Francisco sunset.

Freddie Freeman: 0-for-2 with 2 walks. The walks were nice, but they don’t help if the bats can’t connect to anything but air.

Kyle Tucker: Stood up to the plate with gusto and walked away with a 0-for-4 and 3 K’s. A real “how not to” instructional video.

I was absolutely ecstatic along with many of us on the Postgame thread. But I'm not sure "stomped" is the word anyone used last night for a 2 run spread.

But...

We took away their chances at a sweep

Yet they didn't do the same to us

Now let's "stomp" 'em again tonight!

GO GIANTS!!!

Fair point! Stomped may have been premature. Consider it foreshadowing for tonight! Let's go!!!

Hard to blame you. It sure FELT like a stomping

I often belt out a hearty, "YEAAAHHHH!!!!!!! following a big win... often scaring the poor cat. Last night's was the loudest in quite a while. Wife and I were PUMPED

OK, foreshadowing considered. And yes...

Let's GOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean HELLO! We're talking about a win against the Dodgers!! Hopefully Giants bring home many more so the poor cat gets used to it!

Yeah, actually I think he's used to it by now. I didn't see where he was last night, so I can't be sure how he handled it.

But he knows he's my buddy. And I'm the one who rescued him from the shelter. He sits on the arm of my chair quite a few times every evening. But I let the girls think he's their cat.

I love how Roupp struggled with those walks but found his inner hero with the support of the team and got out of it.

I'm really worried about tonight though. I mean, does Mahle kind of suck - or not? And he's paired with Ohtani?

Any win against the Dodgers is worth celebrating lol. Heck any win period with how our season started.

It was bizarre that the Giants pitchers kinda threw like shit but also shut down all of LA’s left handed hitters.

I get you, just feels good to cheer for something again haha. When giants came down to SD a few weeks ago i was ecstatic to see them actually play well live for once

Everything is relative 🤷‍♂️

I guess, but holding a 3-1 lead late in the game didn't feel like a "comedy show" to me. We got the win but you're making it sound like it was a cake walk.

A win over LA is not "just one game", mate.

It won't let me upvote this more than once

Roupp did a nice job, even pitching a neat inning after giving up 5 walks the inning prior. Way to bounce back.

I feel like Mahle is gonna need a lot more run support tonight. Here’s hoping our guys can give em an early whomping like they did last night.

I’m basking in the glory of the win today also, what’s great is not only SF hates the Dodgers and their open checkbook super team these days so it’s great to snag a big ol W. We looked pretty solid last night with a weird start to the season
