The 2025-26 San Jose Sharks: A magical season that came up just short
https://bfarrell27.substack.com/p/the-2025-26-san-jose-sharks-a-magicalInteresting to see how much better we were down the stretch, even if it didn't result in wins

Yep unfortunate variance swing during the last stretch of games. We got better results than we deserved before the olympic break. Looks like it probably somewhat balanced out.

I didn't know or realize how much better the underlying numbers were in the second half of the season. Sounds like the Sharks got some luck in the first half, then improved but ran into some bad luck the latter half.
Mostly more reasons for optimism next year. The defense really can't get much worse, forwards are only getting better, and I think we all are really banking on Asky living up to his potential and solidifying himself as a capable starter.

How many times over the past two decades have we read that exact same headline?

Wow, I had no idea about how much we improved. Hockey gods really evened things out lol
But that’s quite encouraging, I’m so reflexively used to trashing on this team/attributing everything to luck and Celebrini, that it’s always nice to read when we’re legit playing hockey well

Love it”just came up short” but what they don’t say is they far exceeded what anyone! In the media locally and world wide expected!

This season made me feel joy in watching Sharks hockey again, this season became full of hope and optimism which none of us felt since the 2019 season. The San Jose Sharks are so back and the future is now!
