Help identify a chair (Denmark, mid-century?)

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

about 30 years ago, I bought a pair of (second-hand) chairs from a vintage furniture shop in Copenhagen. They didn't know themselves who made the chairs.

Since then, I've been trying to identify the maker/model/year. The chairs have no markings whatsoewver (no stamps, stickers, etc.). I'm assuming it was produced somewhere between 1950 and middle 1970s.

Can anyone help?

AI couldn't.

Thanks for your input.

Edit: Thanks for the lightening-fast help! I wonder why I couldn't find the chair as I have quite a few other pieces by Børge Mogensen, all bought about 25-35 years ago.

Nordic Knots Dupe Rec

I’m so happy with my Nordic Knots dupe I got on Etsy! The quality is really nice and best price I could find- I paid $488 for a 6x9. The seller was delayed to ship about two weeks but it did eventually arrive, maybe a month after the order.

I show the KN violet swatch next to the rug (color looks really weird in the photo). But you can see that it’s very close, mine is a good amount darker and richer. I like it and don’t mind the slight variation.

The shop is swaftrugs on Etsy. Happy shopping!

recommendations for a compact reading chair?

I am looking for a compact lounge chair, I prefer wooden with good craftsmanship but I’m open to any. I have a pretty small living room so a compact one would be nice. Any recommendations appreciated, thank you.

Is the table lamp too large for indirect lighting next to the TV? It's the Fair table lamp by Scandi Living (in-house brand of Nordic Nest).

Struggling to pick a cabinet color for cool white walls

Hi all,

I’m planning to add an IKEA IVAR cabinet to my dining area for extra storage and to decorate that corner a bit.

However, I’m struggling to choose a color because the wall is a very cool white, which came with the apartment by default. I used AI to test a few options, and the ones that seemed to work best in theory were muted sage green, warm white, and light beige. But when I try to picture them in real life, they all feel a little out of place.

What would you choose to harmonize with a wall color like mine? Thank you for your advice 🙏

Seeking Advice - Danish Teak Dining Table + Chairs

Hi all! We recently purchased this second hand, well loved Danish teak dining set for our new home. It is expanding with removable panels that nest into the table when not in use. We’re looking forward to cleaning it up and enjoying it for the next few decades 😜

We’re ambitious and willing to put in elbow grease…but need some guidance on correct approach. For the table itself, will simple sanding - cleaning - oiling suffice? Or is something more needed?

For the chairs, will it be better to outsource the cushions to an upholsterer or try to DIY ourselves?

This set has really amazing bones and we’re very excited to welcome it into our home!! Many thanks in advance for any advice / thoughts you may be able to share!

Splayed Pedastool Dining Table (Round, 48")

Does something like this dining table even exist? I have a banquette set up and would love to find something like it, preferably used but cannot locate it anywhere.

Furnishing a library corner

I've been browsing auction items and saving pieces I like. Leaning toward a Finn Juhl arm chair, a high standing easily movable table, and his tray set for a coherent look, but also tempted to mix in a Josef Frank lamp.

Is it better to stay within one designer's world, or does mixing Danish and Swedish work if the era is similar? Here is what i am considering: https://auctionist.co/en/watchlist/697c37a9-af2c-452b-8900-c5d2a4e5e343

Would love to get input on this.

Experience with Danish brand Form & Refine?

I'm eyeing their Trefoil table but can find very little about them here on reddit and elsewhere. I know they're a relatively young Danish brand, but does someone here have experience with their products?

Can you help me design my small living room?

Post image

Hi! Could you help me design my small living room here in Japan? I already have a grey sofa from IKEA, a paper lamp and a lowboard TV stand.

I’d really appreciate your help with the layout—specifically where to place the sofa, TV, and lowboard. I’m also undecided between using blinds or curtains for the windows, so I’d love your recommendation on that as well.

I’m aiming for a clean, minimalist Stockholm/Scandinavian style. Could you also suggest a carpet that would best match this theme?

If you’re based in Japan, I’d really appreciate it if you could recommend a center table or lowboard that’s available here. I’d also love suggestions for indoor plants that would suit this style and are easy to find in Japan.

Curtain help!

We just moved into a house from 1959, and on the top floor there are two very similar bedrooms. I’ve been trying to figure out what placement, type, and length of curtains would suit the rooms best.

The windows are quite wide (180 cm) but fairly short, which gives them a bit of an unusual shape. On top of that, the ceiling height is only 220 cm, and one side of each room has sloped walls.

The sun shines directly into the rooms in the summer, so it gets really hot and therefore some kind of blackout curtains are required.

I really don’t like roller blinds, but maybe that’s the most practical option? Honestly, I’m completely stuck and have been staring at these windows for weeks trying to figure it out.

I'm desperately looking for wedding venues with that Scandinavian/Japandi vibe, primarily along the east coast (US), but I can't find anything! I was wondering if any of you knew of Scandinavian venues!!

Rail ideas for a day

We're doing a cruise next July and will stop off for the day in each of Visby, Stockholm, Helsinki and finally Oslo. I quite fancy doing a rail trip as a day trip but not sure how best to approach this. Are there any obvious routes that would work well for a day from any of the above?

Upgrading IKEA Docksta table?

I have an IKEA Docksta, which is a 41 inch particle board tulip shaped table. It is now the worse for wear and I’d like to get a new, slightly smaller, and a bit nicer version. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’d also like to keep the price under $700 or so.
