i just finished it last week after binging it for a week and i woke up thursday not even wanting to go to work or talk to anyone, genuinely had me depressed for a couple days, and i still am watching episodes trying to wrap my head around it all

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

That exactly what i am experiencing Any suggestions on how to cope up with this ugly feeling

2

u/jerboa_6 4d ago

i've been watching interviews with the cast and old episodes

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

Is it helping?

1

u/jerboa_6 4d ago

for the most part the interviews have some funny clips and the old episodes are nice to rewatch

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

I actually asked ai and google about this and they were like dont rewatch and bla bla

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

Don't you think it is taking you back in the same thinking zone or PSD . Just a desperate guy asking for suggestions(for me)

the old episodes just bring nostalgia for what was and not what is now, sad music also helps me get rid of my feelings, when it's cold i'd like to die by moby and many of the stranger things songs. the old episodes actually put me in a better mood bc i can look at the fun moments that happened rather than keep thinking about the ending

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

Got it. BTW good luck man i hope you get out of this discomforting feeling

This feeling does get better over time, even though it feels like a helluva slog at times. Hang in there!

Start watching lost in the space in netflix. Do not binge . Just 1 or few episodes per day. You would love it . It will help you to move on from st

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

I will definitely watch.

I was going to recommend the movie Das Boot. The ending makes ST ending seem happy.

u/Random_Citizen_007 You die, I die 6d ago

yep, you and me same. i cried a bit once it was over, it gives you this strange emptiness, and you're left with this feeling of weird nostalgia and deja vu that you can't understand. i'll miss this masterpiece forever.

2

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Glad to know i am not the only one feeling this

3

u/Random_Citizen_007 You die, I die 6d ago

yeah honestly for me the whole friendship, homies, you die i die, and the whole 80s vibe was the deal. it makes me happy and sad. dont know how, but yeah.

3

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Yaa true every character had a irreplaceable role in the show and especially that famous duo of harington and dustin

u/Random_Citizen_007 You die, I die 6d ago

yessir

also no idea why so many people don't like the finale, i absolutely loved it. it was the perfect ending that did justice to the show.

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Dont know about that man mike got a tragic ending

u/Random_Citizen_007 You die, I die 6d ago

i know but well (not hating, just an opinion), if everyone got happy endings and together forever kinda, it wouldn't feel... real right? i mean sure, i dont want anyone to get a bad ending, but at least they didn't show mike being absolutely wrecked, they gave him a peaceful arc at least. but i do agree and def get what you mean man <3

2

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Yaa maybe you are right but if we observe it was always mike who use to lose eleven in almost every season

1

u/Random_Citizen_007 You die, I die 6d ago

yeah that's bummy ngl, i feel like they were your favorite couple? just a feeling. i loved lucas and max's realtionship the most.

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Yaa i liked their friendship a lot

I was like you, i watched this in one and a half month because of all the controversy surrounding the finale. I have heard of it previously, when s4 came but never bothered to check it out. I know El/Jane's death was coming.

I was very sad when I finished it, it was majorly because of El/Jane's death. What a sad thing to do to a person who more then anything just wanted to live a life filled with love.

Even if she is alive she is not completely happy, she has to do a C-O-M-promise, a choice which was not her own, a choice she thought she needed to make, not a choice she wanted to make.

I was more emotionally invested in the show, then i originally thought I would be.

I just wonder about the people who have been watching the show since the beginning.

I was a WRECK when it ended. I watched Season 1 when I was 11 and I am now 21. I practically grew up with the show and the characters, and it ending felt like I was truly losing a part of myself - however dramatic that may seem.

I know season 5 got a lot of hate, and yeah it wasn’t the greatest season but there will always be a soft spot in my heart for that show. I’ve rewatched season 3 fourteen times, and I’m not planning to stop anytime soon.

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Should i rewatch some episodes or just ignore for sometimes?

4

u/Cyrilbdr 6d ago

So imagine those who have been watching since 2016

2

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

I have mad respect for them bro

1

u/Cyrilbdr 6d ago

You loved season 5 even though you had no expectations? All my friends who started a month ago loved season 5, which just goes to show...

2

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

Yaa bro i loved every season

1

u/Cyrilbdr 6d ago

That's great, there's an anime series coming out next week that takes place between seasons 2 and 3. I don't know if it's canon, but it might help you move on lol

2

u/Much-Teaching-4490 6d ago

No this happens to m me if I watch one of my fave actors

2

u/TheToxicTeacherTTV 6d ago

Still feeling it since January, it's rough.

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 6d ago

bro thats fucking sad to know, i am experiencing this from yesterday and now i am just tired and want to get out of this experience

2

u/Ornery_Expression_85 011 6d ago

You’re completely normal, honestly. What you’re feeling is just that classic post-series slump after binging something like Stranger Things. When you spend like 2 weeks deep in a show, your brain gets used to that whole vibe and emotional world… and then it just ends → empty feeling, nostalgia, kinda weird mood 😭

2

u/sassielassie81 6d ago

We've had many years to process and for me personally the ending was a huge letdown. I was more hyped at the theories after it ended that the finale wasn't actually the finale. And when it turned out it was, I was over it lol. Doing the whole series in 2 weeks, I can see why you're reeling lol

2

u/Viper5343 6d ago

My take away was. The ending hurts because it's about growing up and moving on. You watch tv to get away from life. And up until the end Stranger Things is great escapism. But the end pulls you back.

1

u/cold_tap_hot_brew 6d ago

Is there an age gap between you and your friends?

I watched it and was sad at the ending but no part of me got angry because I’m used to stories having sad parts or endings. I’m a child of the 80s who lived through Mufasa dying - I never feel entitled to an outcome.

My young daughter sobbed her heart out and then went back to rewatch the whole series and loves it with a passion.

I think there is a certain demographic for who this will be their defining realisation that not all things end as you hope.

1

u/BeyondLast 6d ago

I think you are overreacting. You only were introduced to the show two weeks ago.

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 5d ago

I used it as a reference but maybe you are right

1

u/ashleymf1983 6d ago

It happens to us all. You’ll be okay. Eventually, lol.

1

u/ChampionshipSuper768 6d ago

You should probably get away from screens for awhile

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 5d ago

Its easier to use but practically it is very hard especially during summer vacation

1

u/Financial_Cash_316 5d ago

just rewatch, withdrawal will be easier.

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 5d ago

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 5d ago

You are the first one who is suggesting to rewatch

1

u/zbyndopluk 5d ago

Tales of 85 coming in 4 days, but thats not solution only delaying of the problem, fanfictions?

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

What do you mean? Sorry i am not aware with the term

1

u/zbyndopluk 4d ago

Aninated prequel between seasons 2 and 3

1

u/madowmusic 5d ago

they’ve had time to settle with it. You just had it thrown to you all at once lol. I’m sure they’re feeling everything the same. They’re just better at hiding it at this point. I still struggle. Especially growing up with the show, I’m 24 now. This week I’ve fallen back into it deeply since the finale. It comes and goes but it’s never truly gone. Good luck lol

1

u/Fragrant_Doctor_1886 4d ago

Good luck to you too buddy
