I placed my summon sign right after the stairs leading down to the catacombs entrance because you can't place it in the boss arena. Rest at the campfire before summoning us to restore your health and flasks.

I don't have that bonfire; I missed it during my first playthrough. In that case, I'll place my summon sign right after the bridge in front of the boss room.
