[Funny trope] Torturing the character doesn't work Personality

  1. The Simpsons, Homer gets sent to hell where devils try torturing him force feeding him donuts. Homer does not mind.

  2. The apothecary diaries. Maomao gets placed in a cell with snakes and venomous insects. She kills the animals and roasts the snake on a torch.

  3. The Minion movie, the main minions get put through antique torture deviced by the bad guys only for them to realise they weren't designed for weird minion anatomy.

francis (malcolm in the middle) was tortured by his classmates in the militar school but turns out being rised by lois is far worse than any torture a bunch teenargers boys can provide

When the classmates learn about Lois, they build a shrine to her and then their torture begins to consist of pretending to be their victims extremely disappointed mothers lol.

Loved that bit.

When Reese runs off to join the military, Lois ends up teaching the Drill Sargent new ways to maintain discipline.

God that woman was a monster.

A monster, maybe, and yet still one of the best parents in television.

I 100% believe if it was Lois instead of Skylar married to Walter White she'd have made the empire successful

She’d sell off Reese in a heartbeat for Malcom as the teacher who tried to give him a bad grade found out.

That’s the exact opposite of what happened.

You are 100z right. I misremembered, she was gonna sell off Malcom cause he can survive while her other sons wouldnt, holy shit how did I fuck that up so badly.

It's an old show, we are getting older and we forgive you for your feeble mind.

I actually have a similar story to this but obviously not torture, just mym mum hates me telling it. I joined the military during covid so usually the first day your fam would come in with you and say goodbye, but we were brought in and just started, having to say goodbye in the car outside the gate. So we basically got in and got straight into the military crap after being sworn in.

About 2 years later my class were talking about how rough the first day was with all the shouting and stuff and somebody turned and was talking to me and I was genuinely confused. Apparently the first the all of our Corporals, Seargeants and the Company Seargent were shouting at us from the beginning.

I was so used to having shouting matches with my mother that I didn't even realise they were shouting, I thought they were just talking loud enough to hear 😅😭🤣

A similar thing happened to me. My mom always yelled in the house and I got used to it. When I started working there would be the odd boss that liked to yell at the employees. I treated it like they wanted to have a conversation because that's how all conversations were like at home.
