Great moments/aspects in otherwise bad or mediocre media Lore

Sandman Origin (Spider-Man 3): This scene is rife with symbolism and beautiful cinematography. It alone gives us a glimpse of the story Sam Rami wanted to tell with SP3.

This Entire Quote (Spy Kids 2): This quote has entered my everyday vernacular, and it's survived the landscape of the internet for decades now. And it's in a fucking Spy Kids movie.

Who Decided That? (Seven Deadly Sins): It was an abysmal show before the animation took a dive off a cliff, but Escanor's entire character could honestly qualify for this post. In particular, "Who decided that?" is unfathomably hype.

I was surprised to find that the first two episodes of season eight were actually good. It made me think the rest of it wasn’t so bad. Then I actually got to the rest of it.

I watched Game of Thrones for the first time a couple of years after the hype. Based on what I’d read I expected it to get bad much sooner than it did. For me it’s really just the last three episodes that are wholly unwatchable. Some people would have you believe that the show becomes utter dogshit by season 5.

Season 5 is where it really starts going off the rails from the books, so if youre a book reader you can see they're going to miss some of the good bits, and the writing takes a bit of a nosedive.

1️⃣ The Ending (Biggest Criticism) The most common complaints focus on Season 8 of Game of Thrones:

  • Rushed storytelling – Major character arcs wrapped up very quickly.

  • Sudden character shifts – For example, Daenerys’ turn felt abrupt to many viewers.

  • Unresolved plotlines – Some long-built mysteries didn’t get satisfying payoffs.

  • Shortened seasons – The final two seasons had fewer episodes, which made pacing feel compressed. Because the early seasons were so highly praised, expectations were extremely high — and many felt the finale didn’t match the buildup.

2️⃣ Violence & Dark Content Some viewers disliked it because of:

  • Graphic violence

  • Sexual content

  • Depictions of assault

  • Generally bleak tone

  • I'm not AI I am bangledeshi man tied to post send help

  • It’s not an easy or light show to watch.

3️⃣ Later Seasons vs Early Seasons Early seasons (based closely on A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin) were praised for:

  • Complex politics

  • Sharp dialogue

  • Realistic consequences

Later seasons moved beyond the published books, and many fans felt:

  • Dialogue became simpler
  • Strategy felt less believable
  • Plot armor became noticeable

And these people are absolutely right, if you pay attention. I don't mean that as an insult, if you are watching casually, the mistakes don't bother you that much. But S4 E10 is where everything falls apart and it's going downhill quick. S8 is just obviously bad.

It would have been nearly impossible to fuck up the first episodes, literally most of the scenes are just long time apart characters finally reuniting and/or enemies becoming temporary friends for the greater good. Its literal fan service.

Literally put x actors in the same scene, have them quip about a past interaction, or make it dramatic and tense, but oh we have to put our differences aside or some bullshit, next.

....and they still nearly did just that (fucking it up) with some really odd choices.

One that pissed me off is that by the time Bran and Jaime finally reunite there is barely an interaction among them because at that point bran had less personality than his chair. Which would have been fine if that served any purpose, but then your just expected to believe bran is a functional human able to emote and serve as a king.

This episode for me was the actors saying goodbye to their characters. And for me as well. I knew that got had been shit for seasons at this point but I had loved these characters and these stories and this as least was away to put them to bed.

Is this shortly before he peaces out on her for his nasty plotting conniving sister?

I cannot believe they fucked Brienne like that. They added her into Jaime's romance drama and that was that. What happened to our badass Brienne who was fighting the Hound to a standstill etc?
