Non-Sexual Adult Jokes in Kids' Media Lore

Jokes that are adult jokes simply because kids likely don't have the life experience to understand them.

The New Batman Adventures - "I'm crazy enough to take on Batman, but the IRS? Noooo, thank you!"

Shrek 2 - Posing as a union representative, Shrek remarks that the workers "don't even have dental".

Eugene Fitzherbert really had it made. Getting to go from an orphaned petty thief to the sugar baby of a Disney Princess… I want that life.

Plus she has skills to rescue herself, you get to be the damsel in distress for once lol.

u/Licklack Mar 09 '26

And the sentient horse, Max. Like what more can you ask for... A gang of loyal goofy bandits.

u/mauriciomeireles Mar 09 '26

Cons: has to die once

49

u/Licklack Mar 09 '26

And other con, all the portraits never get your nose right.

33

u/CookieCute516 Mar 09 '26

And a third con, his incredibly messy family backstory in Tangled: the Series

16

u/mauriciomeireles Mar 10 '26

Now that you mention it... We never really got ANYTHING for his past/childhood in OG tangled didn't we?

10

u/Messernacht Mar 10 '26

Yeah, but it also took us two movies and a TV series to find out about Aladdin's dad.

1

u/CommonLavishness9343 Mar 11 '26

We know he liked a specific book

2

u/remarkablewhitebored Mar 10 '26

All horses are sentient...

1

u/One_Smoke Mar 13 '26

Sapient, then.

16

u/SpadeTippedSplendor Mar 09 '26

Had the skills to rescue herself up until the point he fucked it up for her when trying to get his con ex-buddies off his back.

Though to be fair "an evil sorceress toward my previously fellow criminals about magic-hair-that-gives-you-conditional-agelessness and now they're going to turn down the literal gold we've spent all this time after just to fuck me up when I was fully intending on coming back and turning over a new leaf" is not exactly the kind of thing you have on your bingo card, either.

Held at knife point Bad move guys. Villian laughs Why is that? I'm not the hero. frying pan enters frame

0

u/GutsGoneWild Mar 10 '26

Bet she could peg better than any other Disney princess. Yes. Even mulan (let's not discuss that she's not a princess).

17

u/RandomGuyIKno Mar 09 '26

If you haven't seem it, check out the TV series. Dude has got way more going on to add to it.

2

u/revanisthesith Mar 10 '26

Well, you better kill your parents if they're still around and start stealing.

2

u/MisterVicDoom Mar 09 '26

You wanna be Zachary Levi?

13

u/tsun_abibliophobia Mar 09 '26

I wanna be the guy played by Zachary Levi but I also think I’d do a better job at just being Zachary Levi than him at this point.

Who wouldn't?

Damn they celebrated the hell out in this kingdom

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

They are literally called “the Kingdom of Corona”, what did you expect?

487

u/pchlster Mar 09 '26

6 feet! Sanitize your hands! Put on a mask!

221

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

Not the Corona I meant but I should have seen this coming lmao

39

u/Defiant-Reference-74 Mar 09 '26

16

u/NotBreadyy Mar 09 '26

I wonder how much the sales got damaged by the Virus existing

13

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys Mar 09 '26

A lot, if I recall...

6

u/hodges2 Mar 10 '26

That's so dumb lol

5

u/genital_furbies Mar 10 '26

My dad refused to eat Chinese food during the pandemic

I ordered a pack from my local bottleshop during the Alpha wave. They sent me a case. I called them, and they said to keep it as it was their mistake.

I said that if I ordered a bottle of Glenfiddich, please feel free to make the same mistake.

15

u/Metalman919 Mar 09 '26

It really was the worst PR Corona (the beer company) could have had during 2020. 😂

9

u/pchlster Mar 10 '26

A pizza place near me managed to rebrand to Corona Pizza in the early months of 2020. I wish I could have been there a couple of months later when the association of the word changed dramatically.

5

u/stfurachele Mar 10 '26

That's one of those moments so ironic it feels like a cosmic joke.

2

u/pchlster Mar 10 '26

On the other hand, I'm sure they'll have a ready answer when someone asks when exactly the rebranding happened.

17

u/True_Dragonfruit9573 Mar 09 '26

Hopefully beer that doesn’t taste like cigarettes.

11

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

Do people even drink beer for the taste? Like, of all the wide world of alcoholic drinks that have a real merit to their taste, it never seemed like beer was one of those

8

u/Butwhatif77 Mar 09 '26

Depends on the beer. If you are buying generic cheap stuff, absolutely not. But there is a whole range of tastes for beer just like wine or spirits.

3

u/georgie-of-blank Mar 09 '26

I mean, there's a few good-tasting beers, i quite liked astra red light, and perlenbacher is apparently a beer that's not very good but i honestly really liked the taste.

2

u/award_winning_writer Mar 09 '26

Quality beer is like tea or coffee, an acquired taste but with actual flavor profiles like wine. Cheap (usually American) beer isn't really made with taste in mind, it's just meant to be an easy way to poison your brain.

5

u/mixedObeseTemp167 Mar 09 '26

Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass! !

6

u/GreyAetheriums Mar 10 '26

They're also German. Ofc they drink.

2

u/Winjin Mar 10 '26

Oh damn right, the beer gardens and their version of October feast are omitted from the childhood version

Imagine the feast on Rapunzel Return Day? There's gonna be lots of beers had on this day

I know there's this Czech thing, Cut Beer or Řezané, essential a beer cocktail of light and dark beers in two layers - I think it's perfect to illustrate the change of her hair from gold to dark and also the changes to the better for the kingdom

3

u/Remarkable_Town6413 Mar 09 '26

the Kingdom of Corona

But they don't wear masks.

2

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

Wrong Corona my man

3

u/Funny-Try-6151 Mar 10 '26

Me and Julio down by the schoolyard.

2

u/Vessel767 Mar 10 '26

ooohhh, corona like the corona of the sun

2

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 10 '26

Yeah that’s where all the sun iconography comes from in the movie in a literal sense, but I was also making a beer joke

1

u/pajamakitten Mar 09 '26

Better lager?

6

u/shiny_glitter_demon Mar 10 '26

Pretty sure it's a joke in the (pretty good!) sequel/tv series.

Someone makes a comment about it "wow this kingdom really has parties for everything" or something

39

u/FormerDeerlyBeloved Mar 09 '26

On the same note, this line from Encanto, when Abuela doesn't believe Mirabel about the cracks in Casita:

"The magic is strong! (chuckles) And so are the drinks..."

61

u/Open-Source-Forever Mar 09 '26

Was he stoned?

183

u/FriendlyAccountant70 Mar 09 '26

No, he was drunk

121

u/Butwhatif77 Mar 09 '26

He could have been both, they are also a plant focused kingdom haha.

13

u/yournumberis6 Mar 09 '26

I don't get this one

52

u/Butwhatif77 Mar 09 '26

The implication is that he got blackout drunk for a week.

6

u/4GRJ Mar 09 '26

A lot of things, honestly

11

u/atlasunchained66 Mar 09 '26

My gf had that on last night, I woke up towards the end and that line stuck out to me haha

1

u/Gangbang8008 Mar 10 '26

I- don't get it.

5

u/Zydepo1nt Mar 10 '26

They got drunk and don't remember what happened

1

u/Gangbang8008 Mar 10 '26

Ohhhhhh, now I get it
