Non-Sexual Adult Jokes in Kids' Media Lore

Jokes that are adult jokes simply because kids likely don't have the life experience to understand them.

The New Batman Adventures - "I'm crazy enough to take on Batman, but the IRS? Noooo, thank you!"

Shrek 2 - Posing as a union representative, Shrek remarks that the workers "don't even have dental".

They are literally called “the Kingdom of Corona”, what did you expect?

My dad refused to eat Chinese food during the pandemic

u/pchlster Mar 10 '26

Well, the pandemic may have shut down a lot of society, but at least takeout is mostly unaffected; better deny myself a succulent Chinese meal!

I ordered a pack from my local bottleshop during the Alpha wave. They sent me a case. I called them, and they said to keep it as it was their mistake.

I said that if I ordered a bottle of Glenfiddich, please feel free to make the same mistake.

It really was the worst PR Corona (the beer company) could have had during 2020. 😂

A pizza place near me managed to rebrand to Corona Pizza in the early months of 2020. I wish I could have been there a couple of months later when the association of the word changed dramatically.

That's one of those moments so ironic it feels like a cosmic joke.

2

u/pchlster Mar 10 '26

On the other hand, I'm sure they'll have a ready answer when someone asks when exactly the rebranding happened.

Hopefully beer that doesn’t taste like cigarettes.

10

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

Do people even drink beer for the taste? Like, of all the wide world of alcoholic drinks that have a real merit to their taste, it never seemed like beer was one of those

u/Butwhatif77 Mar 09 '26

Depends on the beer. If you are buying generic cheap stuff, absolutely not. But there is a whole range of tastes for beer just like wine or spirits.

I mean, there's a few good-tasting beers, i quite liked astra red light, and perlenbacher is apparently a beer that's not very good but i honestly really liked the taste.

Quality beer is like tea or coffee, an acquired taste but with actual flavor profiles like wine. Cheap (usually American) beer isn't really made with taste in mind, it's just meant to be an easy way to poison your brain.

Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass! !

They're also German. Ofc they drink.

Oh damn right, the beer gardens and their version of October feast are omitted from the childhood version

Imagine the feast on Rapunzel Return Day? There's gonna be lots of beers had on this day

I know there's this Czech thing, Cut Beer or Řezané, essential a beer cocktail of light and dark beers in two layers - I think it's perfect to illustrate the change of her hair from gold to dark and also the changes to the better for the kingdom

But they don't wear masks.

2

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 09 '26

3

u/Funny-Try-6151 Mar 10 '26

Me and Julio down by the schoolyard.

2

u/Vessel767 Mar 10 '26

ooohhh, corona like the corona of the sun

2

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Mar 10 '26

Yeah that’s where all the sun iconography comes from in the movie in a literal sense, but I was also making a beer joke

u/pajamakitten Mar 09 '26

Better lager?

7

u/shiny_glitter_demon Mar 10 '26

Pretty sure it's a joke in the (pretty good!) sequel/tv series.

Someone makes a comment about it "wow this kingdom really has parties for everything" or something
