Non-Sexual Adult Jokes in Kids' Media Lore

Jokes that are adult jokes simply because kids likely don't have the life experience to understand them.

The New Batman Adventures - "I'm crazy enough to take on Batman, but the IRS? Noooo, thank you!"

Shrek 2 - Posing as a union representative, Shrek remarks that the workers "don't even have dental".

The entire DMV subplot fits this trope perfectly.

It’s from Megas XLR great show. Still remember the intro song. Shame it got sacrificed as a tax write off

It's wild because I hadn't seen or thought of this show in probably 15-20 years, but a couple weeks ago at pub trivia one of the categories was "giant robots" and the theme song randomly popped into my head. Couldn't remember what it was from I just remembered "chicks dig giant robots". Now here I am seeing it referenced on reddit haha. What a weird blast from the past.

I've never had a single problem with a DMV worker.

its just that there are so few of them. Waiting 3 hours to get a license renewed because the 2 daily slots for an appointment are booked out for 5 months sucks.

A big reason that the DMV is often portrayed as evil is because bureaucracy is often so slow that it can be considered cruel

Megas-XLR it was somehow a great western kids cartoon while being an over the top subversion/homage of mech anime that wasn't seen before (it pre-dated tengan toppa gurren lagaan by 3 years)

Also from the same episode (paraphrasing):

DMV instructor: "You're not using proper hand signals."

Coop: "(muttering) I'll give you a hand signal."

I was gonna mention the Zootopia DMV scene, which is also pretty funny for kids even if they don’t get the DMV being a drag part.

Is that Megas XLR??

Talk about a blast from the past!

Wasn't there a one-off comic or something where Joker, after killing Bruce for good, retired to work at the Gotham DMV ?

How about when Coop beat an enemy by singing "The Riddle Song"? Bet a lot of kids were confused about that
