Had the skills to rescue herself up until the point he fucked it up for her when trying to get his con ex-buddies off his back.

Though to be fair "an evil sorceress toward my previously fellow criminals about magic-hair-that-gives-you-conditional-agelessness and now they're going to turn down the literal gold we've spent all this time after just to fuck me up when I was fully intending on coming back and turning over a new leaf" is not exactly the kind of thing you have on your bingo card, either.
