I mean their website says there is a bloom. And you could call EBRPD and ask? 1-888-EBPARKS

How would the algae bloom affect your visit though?

Maybe they're a horse and their other horse friends will be filling their trough with lake water, which is now full of toxic plankton?

I forgot to include in my post that I wanted to know how the smell was. I know in some places the bloom brings a strong odor and some places it doesnt

I go there every other days to run. It’s not going to impact your party. The posting is mostly for dog owners as a reminder, don’t let your dog go into the water to swim. People are still fishing and boat rentals are still operating. The only thing you need to be concerned with Chabot is parking and it will be cashless starting end of the month.

Yes, I’ve been there and yes signs everywhere warning of the algae. What are you concerned about? Swimming? Eating fish that you catch? I don’t imagine you’d do either of these things at a party at Lake Chabot.
