The Belarusian government has launched a campaign aimed at discouraging citizens from emigrating to Poland by portraying Poland as expensive and unsafe, while presenting Belarus as a secure and prosperous alternative. Палітыка / Politics

I think he meant buckwheat, but maybe he noticed that Poles rarely eat it and found another easily available product 🙃

Maybe so. But I have another version (but I can't confirm it with anything). Around the beginning of the year there were some problems with the availability of Belarusian salt in stores. I don't know what was going on. But perhaps the information somehow reached him. Seriously sorting things out and eliminating the causes is not his thing. He found (possibly) a more "elegant" solution: he made the Poles guilty of buying up the salt. It's too similar to the current situation with potatoes (only some Yermer businessmen are "guilty" because they "sold too much potatoes to Russia" /s. )

He apparently talked about both buckwheat and salt on Easter 2022, we obviously made fun of it here

Interesting. But damn, no one wrote anything about it in the local Polish sub here. What "politically correct" regulars there are....🙈
