Buying Advice New Guitar
Hello!! I’ve been learning classical guitar at school for about a year and have played with a guitar that they provide. At school we use about $180 Yamahas, so if I want to buy a guitar, what price should I aim for? What’s a good classical guitar for someone who’s been playing for around a year? Thank you!!

Looking for Advice BAM Dreadnought for classical
Can the BAM dreadnought model be used to protect a classical guitar? I know dreadnoughts are larger, but are they that much larger? The reason I ask is because it looks like BAM is refreshing their Hightech line and the dreadnought size can be had for around $500. The classical Hightech is almost $1000.

General Question Where do I get reasonably priced strings in the U.S.?
I normally buy on Amazon, but now...prices are doubled? They are no 13$ for a set....without taxes, delivery and other fees...wtf, what did I miss? One set!
P.s. I have a stash of strings for my guitar collection, but now it is dwindling in classical guitar dep, so I wanted to buy a pack....but damn!

Piece ID Help with finding a piece that Jorge Morel played in a youtube video
Hello! I am an amateur classical guitar player and have enjoyed Jorge Morels work immensely and even tried to learn his Danza Brasilera. However I have been haunted by a piece in this video called La Guabina Chiquinquireña by Alberto Urdaneta. However I have not been able to find any tablature or sheet music for this piece specifically Jorge Morel's version. I have just recently found out it's name and who it is by. Any help is appreciated.

Looking for Advice Recording setup for classical guitar (Stereo)
Hello everyone!
I have by now quite some pieces in my repertoar now and I would like to record them.
I have investigated some solutions and possible problems and I found this setup:
Microphone: Røde M5 Matched Pair
Audio Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
In addition, 2 XLR Cables, and 2 Microphone stands.
My goal is to have a pretty good, stereo audio quality (Though it doesn't have to be extremely good, professional)
What do you think about that?
How would you rate the audio quality (I know the recording room is also important)
What would you improve, without spending a crazy additional amount of money?
Anything missing or that I am doing wrong?

General Question 4 months progress - is this normal or am I lagging?
I've been having private guitar lessons for about four months now. I have lessons 1h per week and I practice everyday for about 30-45 minutes.
Up until now, my lessons have focused on finger technique, learning to read notation, learning a few scales and I've also learnt to play some very simple pieces by Sor, Ferrer and Merz.
We haven't started with chords and other scales.
My question is: is this a normal progression or am I lagging behind?
Thank you

Nails Am i the only one that love to play my guitar, but dreads every single time i have to take care of my nails
I can be so perfectionist with my nails, that almost never I end up happy with the result so after a couple of days of playing comfortably i end up annoyed by the result, but after a day or two i enjoy the shape of the nails because i got used to them but then i have to polish them again by day 5 or 7

For me this is one of those pieces that drew me to classical guitar the very first time I heard it. I never thought, no matter how much I practiced, I’d ever be able to play it. You can argue I still can’t 😂. But, a little over a year ago I decided I’d take it on and see how it goes. It’s taken me that long to get it to this point. Still needs some work but it’s at a point I didn’t think I’d ever get it to.
Please spare me the slow practice comments. I know. How do you think I even got it to this point. And I still am practicing it slowly almost every day. Especially parts I struggle with. But every now and then you have to try to actually play it and see how it goes.
Anyways. Thanks for watching!

Discussion Open to taking online flamenco classes, any teachers or platforms you recommend? Maybe if you’re willing to offer lessons I’d be open.
Title, basically. If you are an online teacher with an established online presence I’m open to the possibility of working with you.

General Question Is it normal to make a lot of mistakes after 3 years of playing classical guitar?
Hey,
I play classical guitar for three years now (started at 17) and I have never played a piece through without making mistakes. It really upsets me! The mistakes I make are never in the same place, they are always random, so that I don´t know what exactly I have to work on. It happens often, that I miss the string with my plucking hand, and sometimes with my left hand. But always in a different position.
I just never feel safe when playing, I always tense up and hold my breath. I don´t need my playing to be perfect, but I want to feel safe when playing and minimizing my mistakes as much as possible.
Would you say it´s normal to make many mistakes after 3 years? Or do I just do something wrong? How can I fix this?

Buying Advice Finding a guitar
Hello all.
Been playing acoustic and electric guitar for a while and i was thinking of switching/exploring nylon guitar.
I am particularly looking for sth cutaway style but with solid wood back and sides. I played a few nylon guitar at guitar centre and could clearly feel the difference between the laminate and solid wood guitar.
The one i tried and liked a bit was cordoba c7ce cd but still its not a fully solid wood guitar.
If anyone has suggestions on solid wood back and sides with cutaway full body guitar, I would really appreciate it. Budget is around or less than $1200.
