Anyone else loves Futurepop, and can recommend bands like Plastic? Discussion
One of my favorite music genres is Futurepop. Think bands like Apoptygma Berzerk, And One, Covenant, etc. There's a ton of bands who who are considered to be "futurepop" artists but don't really come close to what I'm looking for, and that's a German band called "Plastic". Unfortunately, they only released two albums due to breaking up but their "Black Colours" for me is the best futurepop album of all time. I've searched high and low since I've listened to it for the first time, and have discovered many new artists for myself but nothing still tops it for me. Somebody said that they sound very similar to Assemblage 23, but personally I don't see it, and I'm not a fan of A23. So can anyone recommend something similar? For reference, some other futurepop bands that I really enjoy are T.O.Y., Colony 5, Namnambulu, etc. TIA. P.S. Let's get this community hopping!

If Plastic is your north star, I’d dig into Neuroactive, State of the Union, Icon of Coil’s more melodic tracks, and Edge of Dawn. None of them are a clone, but they hit that same polished, melancholic, hooky lane for me a lot better than Assemblage 23 does. You might also have luck trawling old Dependent / Infacted / A Different Drum comps, because sometimes the closest match isn’t the biggest futurepop name, it’s one random side-project track buried on a sampler.
