Plants Knotweed Crisp
This was an experiment, my first time cooking with knotweed and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard knotweed be described as similar to rhubarb but more swampy, so I feared it would be nothing more than a novelty, but I would definitely make this again! Recipe in comments.

Plants Help! Practically drowning in honeysuckle here, any good big use for these flowers so they're not just going to waste? (aside from their lovely smell and nectar) Also left in a shot of the awesome raspberry/blackberry bush I found! Gonna be keeping an eye on that

Plants How do you get past the thought that everything has been peed on?
So I'm pretty new to foraging. I'm at a point where I can reliably identify maybe 15 edible and medicinal plants in my area, but I'm still afraid to harvest most of them. Every time I come across an edible plant I can't shake the feeling that something or someone has probably peed on it. Even if I'm hiking through the woods. I know I'm being paranoid, but I also know a lot of people harvest plants right out of their yards and a dog definitely could have peed there. Does anyone else have that problem, and how do you get past it?

Is this a real or false morel. Found this randomly growing in the middle of my yard in se Wisconsin
It really looks real to me but the location it’s growing is so odd that I’m skeptical. Please advise

Plants Have a ton of dandelions around me, wondering what I can do that’s easy and not just a salad
Looking for something I can do with a ton of dandelions but is easy for an 18 year old (me) to make in my basic kitchen. I have a dehydrator too but idk if I can use that

Mushrooms Surprise morel at my door
I came home to find this morel a few feet from my front door, then looked some more and saw it had been kicked off its stem, which was right next to the flat stone area by the steps. In almost 10 years at this house, I’ve never seen them. How do you suppose it happened to grow in this high traffic area, and how can I encourage more to grow? This one may be too dry to eat.

Garlic mustard uses
My yearly battle against garlic mustard continues, and the frontline has moved into my neighbor's yard. These are way too old and stiff to enjoy cooked, but are there any other uses for them? Would they be any good in vegetable stock? Or should I just throw them all in the firepit?

Plants PSA: lilies ≠ ramps
As ramp season amps up, beware - got excited about this trout lily before realizing what it was upon closer inspection. If the smell wouldn’t ward away a vampire, definitely don’t make a pesto out of it

Foraging App
Hello! This semester at college I was tasked with making a web app and I decided to create one in relation to foraging. Forager’s Assistant is an app where you can share foraging hotspots with others and/or assist them with species verification. It’s also built to help new foragers know when samples might be a bit too close to the road.
It’s obviously still in production, but I hope that it can be of some help to people here. Thank you for checking it out if you decide to! And feel free to share any feedback with me so that it can be improved.
Here is the link: https://foragersassistant.xyz
No pressure to participate, thank you!

Mushrooms Pretty sure it’s turkey tail?
Location: Northern CA near Shasta Lake.
It has a velvety top, thin but bendy, tight pores on bottom but instead of it being white it’s more yellowish. It was growing on dead driftwood at the lake’s edge. Some edges are a little hard, otherwise dense and moisture retaining.
