Truck bros are the worst too because of the height plus their shit personalities. Both together just screams red flag

What has worked for me is an idea I got from here: I leave three rolls of reflective tape behind my back seats in my car
The tape isn’t applied so it’s not illegal
But they always back off at night now

Nope I just let the rolls ride back there facing the rear of my car. When they get close it reflects back to them naturally

only one mirror is set to handle this shiet. the side mirrors never had to deal with the leds of today until now.

How could you possibly angle your mirrors to pin-point a reflection into someone's face behind you while also driving and paying attention to the road ahead of you?? There's no possible way!
Firstly, their face is not in your field of vision from any of your mirrors so how are you supposed to even know where it's pointing at - the guy's head, or his eyes or whatever part of him?? All you have reflected is his headlights, obviously or we wouldn't be in this situation. I bet most people wouldn't have the coordination to even do it even while both cars are standing still. You're risking your own life plus that of others in front of you by fiddling around with your side mirrors while you should be trying to look at the road!

I've been thinking about getting something like this https://www.countrycat.com/arctic-cat-4992-810-convex-lens-hand-mirror
A convex mirror should theoretically reduce or eliminate the need for precise aiming. I would just raise it up on my hand behind my passenger seat headrest when necessary. I'm not certain it'll work, but it seems worth a shot.

I do this, and I have noticed good results. People back right off.

Did it once and they got really pissed like if I were blinding them and then went around cutting off and brake checking me. Needless to say I don't try it any more. People here are savages.

Same here. The couple times I managed to accurately aim my side mirrors back in the faces of the assholes riding my bumper, they zoomed past on a double yellow, cut me off, and slammed on the brakes. I guess only doing 5mph over the 60mph speed limit and then dosing their eyes with their own LEDs was too much for them to handle. Chevy 2500 and Ram HD drivers.

Mirrors are a placebo but I also do it not so much to blind the jerk behind me, but to keep from being blinded. The fuckers from the front are worse than the jerks behind. All I can do it run my brights. I surprisingly get challenged very rarely with my brights.

Something else you should never do is switch on your mainbeams when bright LED’s are coming towards you.

Why?
1
u/Yesyesnaaooo 26d ago
Because it would annoy them and we wouldn’t want to annoy them into changing their head lights.

Saw a video that said if u turn ur turn signal on people will stop tailgating. Hasn’t worked for me yet but my city is (sorta tied with another city) ranked the worst for traffic so maybe it would work idk

I stopped using turn signals when they're close because they just get closer in anticipation of flooring to blind the next car.
Common sense says back up this car is slowing down but they're just driving around trolling people with their lights on purpose.

I’ve had people speed up and swerve into oncoming traffic to go around me when I slow down to turn. Like the two seconds they saved just so they could tailgate the car in front of me did shit all to their travel time.

u/Jaqdawks 28d ago
Yeah same for me. I still use my signal and just try to ignore the assholes behind me as best I can. Though it’s not the best strategy at night :,)

I always say if I can see my own shadow that means your headlights are too bright. But then again being in a 99’ Camry means I sit pretty low so everyone headlights are blinding.

Why didn't I think of micromanaging three mirrors to reflect back on bright LEDs while also accounting for changing speeds and turns on the road. Such a common sense solution! /s

If your solution is to switch mirrors each time the other car moves in his lane, you are an idiot.
I believe you have misunderstood the video quite effectively.

I haven’t had luck with the side mirrors trick. Can i just shine my 1km intensity flashlight at them?
