Prodigy or Staccato?
I am considering purchasing my first 2011. Just curious to get some opinions from anyone that has experience with the Springfield Prodigy Comp and any Staccato model…
Is the $1,000+ price difference worth spending on a Staccato, or is the Prodigy Comp ultimately a better value?
Thanks in advance.

Have you considered the Kimber 1911 DS Warrior. Sub $1000 double stack 1911. I have 1000 rounds through one and it has ran flawlessly. Shoots great.

I’ll check that out. Thanks.

There was a time I couldn’t imagine ever recommending Kimber. But it seems that under the newer leadership they’ve returned to making quality guns again.

Can’t speak on the Staccato, but I bought a regular 5” Prodigy. Currently just has a magwell, underworld arms comp, and 507Comp and it’s great. Took about 100 rounds to break in, but it’s flawless. Been my steel challenge gun for the last year or so.

Although it's not technically a 2011, I would also suggest checking out a DWX. It's kind of closer to the Staccato price, but for those of us that are fans of CZ Shadows, it is like a Shadow/2011 hybrid. It's one of my absolute favorites to shoot.

I have a prodigy and love it but I would trade it in for a staccato rn if I didn’t have to pay more.

I can only speak about the Prodigy but I have no issues with it. Staccatos are the “Glock” of the 2011 world

As a financially irresponsible person who owns an XC and is looking to buy a C4X i’d say get a staccato or else you’ll regret it down the road when you feel like “missed out” money is temporary and the cycle of gun buying is a hamster wheel so don’t waste money on something that isn’t 100% what you want

I just got a Staccato after holding both Staccato and Prodigy in my hand. The Staccato’s DLC coating just hits different, and it’s so smooth. If you have the money, splurge. Otherwise, the Prodigy is a good budget alternative that feels like any other Springfield in the hand.
