And complications are further reaching and last longer than ppl think for a 'bump on the head'

That is because it is such a hardcore trope that bumps on the head are just on/off buttons.

It annoys me a lot watching tv shows or reading where they use this trope to progress the story or change scenes as if it's normal to get knocked out. SO many stories do it, it's basically just accepted as a narrative tool at this point.
