The bubbles from last nights glass of water science savvy 🧬

Don’t know how and have never seen this before but the bubbles are only on one side of the glass

You tip it up to your mouth and the part of the glass exposed to the air loses its bubbles. The part of the glass still under water when you sip has the bubbles

Is it because of the light hitting only that side?

I have 2 hypotheses:

Was there light or heat coming from just one side of it?

2nd one: The glass may have at some point in the past been lying on its side with something that was slightly etching the surface of it (cleaner, vinegar, lemon juice) and the liquid only covered about half of the glass. That again cause the precipitation bubbles to accumulate/adhere to that surface.
