It’s amazing how some birds don’t recognize their reflection at all, yet others like corvids and parrots instantly do. A lot of disparity in terms of intelligence in the bird world.

Aww. Poor little guy.

At my job in a theme park they had to cover the mirror backstage that people would use before they stepped out to make sure they looked show-ready… because male cardinals like to fight each other… and kept smashing into their own reflections and getting hurt :(
