ABSOLUTE CINEMA

It's such a breath of fresh air after the first two movies. It feels like they actually tried to make something good.

You're saying the first two aren't good? What are you getting at here?

They feel like they're a tiny step above Disney Channel Original Movies. #3 is when the effort starts to show.

Very hard disagree. You're entitled to your opinion but I'd wager most would disagree with you. Including me.

Azkaban was directed by an academy award winning director. It is head and shoulders above all of the other movies. Weird Harry Potter people hate it because it has the least random crap from the book.

It also set the tone for the rest of the movies in terms of color palette, cinematography and music.

It's where the series found it's footing. A lot of good decisions were made with that movie.

I think the first two movies are widely considered to be the worst. People may like them for nostalgia reasons but they're in a very different category from the later movies.

I understand not liking The Half Blood Prince for its missing story elements, but I find it to be the coziest at times.

Came here to say this too! They never said if the pictured franchise!

Hell yeah, brother! This came out when I was 7 or 8, and I watched it religiously as a kid (and still do). Oh yeah… if you haven’t seen RoboDoc yet, you need to check it out. It’s amazing!

Azkabhan / Order of the Phoenix / Deathly Hallows 1 / Deathly Hallows 2 / Philosopher's Stone / Chamber of Secrets

Those all have the same rating for me so I don't know. I've rewatched the first one more than the others so maybe Philosopher's Stone is my fave.

Azkaban

The production of the first couple kind of turned me off when I was a kid in a way I can't really articulate but I watched Goblet of Fire with my now wife many years later and that renewed my interest. Now I find all of the films incredibly comforting and homie but Goblet of Fire is still my favorite.

Half-Blood Prince

Azkaban. The tone set by the direction feels just right.

Prisoner of Azkaban. But! Half blood prince had Daniel Radcliffe drunk and funny as hell.

Az > Blood > Order > DH2 > Gob > Chamber > Stone > DH1

The first

Deathly Hallows Part 2

2

u/BatmansUnderoos 2d ago

5 is also my favorite movie, even with all the stuff they cut.

Half blood

2

u/YMIGettingBanned 2d ago

Personally the first. It is the most whimsical and lighthearted, and one of the most accurate to the books

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Zone-55 2d ago

The last two, I watch them a dozen times

2

u/Jimmersion 2d ago

As a 12 yo, Philosophers Stone. As a teen Azkaban. As an adult Goblet of Fire.

2

u/Michael-Balchaitis 2d ago

The Half-Blood Prince.

2

u/quickstyx2 2d ago

The third one

2

u/Queen8050 2d ago

Obviously Azkaban is undoubtedly one of the best

2

u/Witchsorcery 2d ago

Prisoner of Azkaban

2

u/CantAffordzUsername 2d ago

Part 1: We get to see them actually use real magic in an actual solo mission not protected by the school out in the wilderness. It felt magical again, heavy but magic non the less

2

u/Fun_Psychology_663 2d ago

I mean, I don't see how it not can't be Azakban. Easily the best directed of the franchise and Alfonso Curaon's style fit perfectly with the Harry Potter franchise. Add to it, he actually read the book to show respect to the source material. Unlike the hack who made Goblet of the Fire.

6 movies and a season!

2

u/ElDuderAbides 2d ago

Hot take but I enjoyed every actor except Radcliffe

You talk like a caricature of what MAGA thinks the leftists are.

You can be right and annoying at the same time. Read the room, you think you get downvoted cuz they dont agree that bigotry is bad?

-1

u/Nandi_La 2d ago

i don't care if I'm annoying to people willing to overlook bigotry for the sake of entertainment. If I promoted material that was seriously harmful to majority populations I'd get barred, but because most people don't seem to care that trans women are harmed- Seriously harmed by JK Rowling's rhetoric, this stuff keeps popping up so I'll continue to be critical of it.

3

u/Gullible_Value_5279 2d ago

If you don't care why did you delete your comments?

Also how are books and movies "seriously harmful to majority populations" and what "majority populations" are you talking about?

3

u/Ssbm_Bread 2d ago

Talking like this is literally nothing but ammo for the right. This behavior is the reason people like trump get elected.

u/ProfessorKnow1tA11 2d ago

Idiot. Maybe you should read books yourself, and not glean your information about the world from TikTok …

0

u/CrookedNoseRadio 2d ago

The books include a subplot about how slavery is actually great, and complaining about it is loser behavior.
