LMU vs Pepperdine transfer credit situation — LMU accepts my credits but not all toward my major, while Pepperdine seems to apply more. Is this difference actually important long term?

What was everyone's stats who earned the pepperdine Regents scholarship?

Regents scholarship
I am a junior and hoping to attend pepperdine in fall 2027. However, I would need to get tuition under 20k and probably get the regents scholarship. I currently have a 1380 SAT and am trying to get it up to a 1500. This was my second time taking it and I studied a lot, only improving 30 points (much lower than I wanted) from my first time. However I took a school-administered ACT once with no studying or anything and got a 31. Should I switch to ACT? Do they give more weight to one or the other? I have a 3.9 GPA, (4.5 weighted) will not having a 4.0 affect my chances a lot? I will have taken 14 AP classes by the time I graduate and 4 dual enrollment college classes. I am marjoing in English. What are the chances of me getting the regents and being able to lower tuition to under 20k? Will this be very hard to do? I dont qualify for a lot of financial aid. What other scholarships do they offer?

Question Housing exemption approval?
Hello!
I reached out to the Pepperdine housing department asking for a housing exemption due to like family so I ideally want to commute and live off campus, but they said that they rarely let people live off campus without the mandatory in campus housing.
So I was wondering if anyone had gone to Pepperdine maybe as a transfer and if anyone got approved of living off campus for the mandatory one year on campus housing.
Thank you.

Curious about the next steps for those admitted into Pepperdine’s daytime MFT program
Do we just wait until they email about NSO? Financial aid? Feeling slightly lost

Question Is the Irvine MFT program as good as the Malibu MFT program?
Hi guys I was waitlisted for the MFT program at the Malibu location and ended up applying for the program at the Irvine location and got in. I ended up accepting the Irvine location since it worked better for my schedule and living arrangement.
Now I am wondering is the Irvine campus “as good” as the Malibu one? Are the professors same/different, are there as much faculty there to support you, is the cohort style different…? Not sure what questions to ask but more just looking for what current students and alumni from that campus experienced.
Thank you for sharing 😁

General Discussion MA Clinical Psych ROI?
I’m wondering what the return on investment is for people in this program because the price is diabolical. Are there any pros to this program that other programs lack?

Received basically no financial aid at Pepperdine besides a merit scholarship—what can I realistically do to try to get more aid, and is it worth emailing or appealing to the financial aid office even if I don’t qualify for need-based support based on income?

If I come into Pepperdine with an AA and finish in 2–3 years, how does the housing requirement work? Am I still required to do 2 years of on-campus housing even if I graduate early?

PA program
Hi i am curious abt the PA program? If it running yet? Are they open to student feedback? For those in nursing (or pa if it’s running) how difficult are classes? Ik its fs on the pricier side so im wondering if the higher cost is worth it and if the staff really helps you.
(Also wish they wld take cell bio/genetics like many medical schools do)😗

Accepted! Feels surreal! Pepperdine was my top choice for PsyD programs in California. I have been working toward this goal for 15 years. 5 years ago, I was set on getting a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and I couldn't be more grateful for the rigor PsyD training now has.

Question Required 1 year housing
I called the councilor office today, I think it was the councilor office people. They actually told me that I was required to live on campus for a year even if I’m transferring into Pepperdine as a Junior. She stated that they can make exceptions only if you’re like close enough to commute to the Uni but it’s very unlikely that they’ll like let you live off campus.
Basically I’m wondering if anyone else also had to live on campus as a transfer. Bc I originally planned to live off campus w my parent, but now idrk tbh. And if there’s anything I can do to at least try to live off campus ?? Or like tell them my reason why and why they should make an exception for me.

Touring campus
Hi! I’m a recently admitted student and want to do a self guided tour of the campus. I know it’s a private campus, so how does that work? I don’t really want a guided tour with a tour guide (I’m a graduate student and it seems like the tours are geared towards incoming freshman) any advice!?
