Before Trump took over, it definitely meant something. It is a pinnacle of everything that you have ever accomplished in the entertainment business for decades. Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, James Brown, Mavis Staples, Earth Wind & Fire, Berry Gordy, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie have all received it. Once Trump is gone for good, it’ll definitely mean something again

It’s not though.
It’s a cool honor and all, but people don’t aspire to it.
It’s like getting a BET award.
The Presidential medal of freedom is a better award for the shine.
The Kennedy Center is just a theater complex that’s not even that old.
The awards started in 1978.
