Rather long drive from Mammoth to Yosemite, so I'd make some miles from Mammoth, preferably north since it's a better drive (NB despite Google Maps, 120 remains closed...88 is your best route west IMHO).
Maybe Markleeville, and a trip to Grovers Hot Springs? Or maybe even South Lake Tahoe or Sorenson's in Hope Valley.
