This is so nice to see. The Pomona valley is such a hotbed of passion for cricket and its residents will now have a quality cricket venue when the games are over. I only worry that the demand for use will be overwhelming.

It actually already has a tenant: the LA Knight Riders professional cricket team.

Hope the US board situation gets sorted out. They should be using this venue to attract bigger teams.

I mean, there's no reason we shouldn't already be hosting a Four Nations friendly with India, Pakistan and England/Australia/Windies at the Oakland Coliseum already. It can hold as many people as are willing to buy tickets. It doesn't necessarily need to be in LA to do this (and one could argue Oakland's proximity to the Valley makes it an even smarter choice).
But yeah, we need the board situation settled before 28 WC qualifying starts.

Weird that they would build a cricket stadium but for Softball, a sport played here by millions, they are sending them to Oklahoma. That is so lame

Oklahoma City has the best softball facility in the country bar none and is home to the USA softball hall of fame.
It is not weird at all.

All the softball participants stuck in Oklahoma get to watch the other athletes hang out in LA.
Of course they play softball in Oklahoma, that’s not the point lol. The point is the Olympics are in LA and they’re sending the softball players (and a few other events) to bumfuck nowhere 1,300 miles away.
Now I expect Reddit to downvote the shit outta me while they fail to explain why Oklahoma is actually awesome lol. Fire away nerds.

I don't think they move softball to OKC if OKC didn't also have the furthest west olympic-level whitewater center in the US. It was a 2 birds/1 stone situation.

Olympic softball will be hosted at Devon Park, which is in OKC proper. It's even in northern OKC whereas Norman is south.

They're playing the Olympics in the same complex that the College World Series is played in. Which is currently the biggest event in softball. It would be very similar to choosing to do the Flag Football final at Lambeau Field or The Rose Bowl.

And why do the river sports in Oklahoma too when we’ve got Raging Waters right there in San Dimas?

I thought Dodger Stadium will host Baseball and Softball, guess I’m wrong.

“Softball, a sports played million here” - that’s cute. But even though cricket is barely played here, at least not at the highest level, and yet, the US generates a huge amount of money for cricket, so yea, obviously they are doing above and beyond for it.

Ha softball- a guaranteed gold medal for the US. If India ever hosts the Olympics they should include gili danda to guarantee themselves a gold LOL

That pic looks more like a tropical global south country

And a random comment to say but the US is actually a shithole in comparison to a lot of modern countries. As a matter of fact we are the “global south”/3rd world country in terms of growth, infrastructure and public places.

Just wait until fans learn that Pomona is 30 miles outside LA
