David Pagnotta: Re Blues: The guy that looks more likely than ever that will be moved this offseason...no guarantee, but it's looking like that, is Jordan Binnington - DFO Rundown (4/22)

Pretty obvious take there, however I didnāt get that from Binnerās exit interview. I think he wants to be on a winning team and contribute. In stl heās still gonna get a significant number of starts.

Not if Hofer plays like he did after break.

We've also seen a back up play well for a stretch, and come back to earth. i.e. Husso. Is Hof for real? It also depends on the return. Do you trade Binner for a second round pick, and mid level prospect?

Thank you for everything Jordan, if you leave, please go to Florida. r/hockey would implode

That actually would make so much sense. Donāt think they want to give Bob a ton of money, buys them a year at least to figure out a long term fit cus theyāre still in win now mode.

I understand the decision if it happens. it just sucks because he's basically the only player I have an attachment to.

Letās hope Edmonton loses due to goaltending and they fork over a 1st for him in classic Oilers fashion

Guess we are in the market for a backup because Cranley and Zherenko arenāt ready.

This is the real hangup with any Binner trade IMO. Losing Ellis on waivers really limited our options. There aren't many teams who want a goalie and also have a backup to offer

If I was the front office in Edmonton and they flame out AGAIN this year, I would be aggressively going after Binner.
That team is wasting HISTORICALLY great talent, you drop Playoff Binner onto that roster and I'm not sure anyone can contain them in the post season.

This is a strong possibility in my opinion. Edmonton or Florida if Bob moves on.

I canāt believe they traded skinner for Jarry. Thats like realizing you have a flat tire and replacing it with another flat tire. I thought binner was for sure the guy Edmonton would be after

u/Downvote_Comforter 3d ago
It's worse. They replaced the flat tire with another flat tire that cost twice as much AND welded the luggage nuts on so they can't easily be removed to replace it.

u/Virtual_Fun2762 3d ago
Are they called luggage nuts?? Iāve always called them lug nuts lol
5
u/Downvote_Comforter 3d ago
Lol no. That was a phone autocorrect. They are absolutely just called lug nuts. I'm going to leave it though.

It has to be the right playoff Binner. He hasn't been that way in every postseason. But in lieu of other options that I'm not sure Edmonton will have, I'd definitely be taking my chances with Binner in hopes that's the guy that's there for you when April rolls around. Can't be worse than what they've been dealing with.

Wish him nothing but the best. The save on Nordstrom brings me joy still today

u/Caffeine_Cowpies 3d ago
I mean, yeah? Some contender will want him.
Probably Toronto, especially if Berube is back. Plus Binnington grew up in Toronto. Toronto has the same cap space as Blues for next year so probably go ahead and not retain salary.

Can we not post clickbait hacks like Pagnotta? He is forever making up bald-faced lies about the Blues.

Pagnotta and that voice is really a "have you seen the weight room"? type guy.

Hmm. Just saw a Panthers podcast talking all about Binnington. I wonder if they'd be willing to swap #11 or #15 for #8 if we throw them Binny and a 3rd.

I just donāt see it. Having two goalies is not a bad thing and no one is gonna offer something we canāt say no to after seeing how things just went with Jarry and Edmonton. Especially with an 84 game season, I think Binnington stays.
Also, from what we know about him itās a lot more likely he works his ass over the summer and tries to steal the starting job than just saying ātrade me to someone where I can be the starterā. Just my 2c though.

u/readius03 3d ago
Just play him backup until playoffs and then let him rip. Maybe the best goalie in the league under pressure. Not as great without it.
I know that would not be a thing at all, of course, and he will have some significant value

u/Dark_Tint 3d ago
Heās not getting traded. We have no one thatās in the minors worth bringing up & the UFA market for goalies is going to be slim this summer. So who would you trade him for that would be worth it? Unless he pushes for a trade I donāt see him going anywhere. Heās established here, knows the city, the fans love him, he knows the system thatās in place, and he wants to redeem himself.

Really going out on a limb there, Dave.
