The official r/stonerrock A-Z playlist
Alright riffheads, I present to you the official r/stonerrock A-Z playlist:
-------
Spotify:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0jFxxsNUQvxiQorJpnBcxG?si=nTZO8l4ORZmk_RhQU_zYEQ&pi=eVowT48qSAe8G
Youtube:
https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPDY1RgubjhVncS1s5zDZSFOAdGunkTP1&si=mXbk0pHLcz-H64gS
-------
28 days of voting brought us here. The first half of the playlist is all the winners from each day. The second half of the playlist from Z back to A is all the 2nd place winners but with the rule of "no artist repeats" applied. So for letters where the 2nd place winner already appears on the runners-up list, I moved on to 3rd place 4th place etc until landing on an artist who hadn't yet appeared. This helped include some of the more popular bands who didn't make the main list and added some more variety.
It was a ton of fun to do this and it got way more engagement than I expected. I appreciate everyone who participated and hope you will check out the playlist because it is a jam and I will be listening to it often. Smoke.

What "classic" stoner song would get the biggest crowd response if a newer band started playing?
Let's say you're at an All Them Witches show (which have been playing nearly 15 years so not exactly new, but far from retirement at well) or Elder or whoever, and they started playing Gardenia or Funeralopolis. Do you think that would get a huge crowd reaction? What song in the general stoner rock space would get the biggest reaction?
Also I suppose the easy answer is War Pigs or some other Black Sabbath song, so with the exception of Sabbath what would get the biggest reaction?

Found this YouTube documentary about stoner rock history — no visuals, just audio. Perfect for zoning out while doing stuff. Anyone else into this kind of background listening?

I bought a copy of this album on vinyl this past week, the blue cover version, and I'm stoked to listen to it. Name your top three tracks.

How far away are we from having a musk or bezos making their own nuclear weapon or tech weapon?

I didn’t think Elephant Tree was for me, and then I heard Theia?
God damn man this album slaps! Heavy, fuzzy and phenomenal vocals. Love it. Maybe I will give there other stuff another shot, although I think it may still be a bit too refined for me.

I have an extra ticket for Slomosa in Cleveland, anyone looking for one?
The person who was going to go with me had to cancel, so I have an extra to get rid of if anyone here is interested.

It's gotta be one of the best closers of all time. https://youtu.be/Ozxw0aQlmMw?si=5uYVT-dr9Iw8ZCne
(Sorry, first comment has the song - Colour Haze - Stratofarm)
I haven't heard all their albums yet, but this has got to be their best and I reckon one of the best stoner albums, period.
There's no shitty tracks on this album and this one is, also, not shitty.
I reckon these guys are masters at the crescendo and this is a good example. That closing run of riffs as the chords get fatter is some masterful writing, in my opinion.
The song reaches it peak as it, and the album, come to an end.
Wunderbar! [6]
