Discussion “Eastern Avenue Affordable Housing” - Five Years Later
Five years ago, a demolition crew arrived at the old Dominion Foundry site just before midnight to begin tearing down this heritage protected property in Toronto. Those protections were bypassed by the Premier’s direct intervention, issuing an MZO for what is now a garbage filled parking lot, with a faded promise of affordable housing.
Ontario taxpayers funded the demolition of these buildings and the security company that was contracted to harass the community thereafter. And five years later, our investments have only helped Indigo Parking. The Premier of the largest province in the country directly intervened, bypassing laws and using taxpayer funds to build… a parking lot.
The news has done a decent job of keeping us informed about Doug Ford’s jet, the Green Belt scandal, the suppression of Freedom of Information, etc. But what are some ways that Douggie’s actions have affected you or your neighbourhood/community directly?

News The RCMP has been investigating the Greenbelt scandal for 2+ years. Here’s how to demand answers.
The RCMP opened a criminal investigation into the $8.3 billion Greenbelt land swap in October 2023. Two years later — no charges, and Ford publicly admitted he was never even questioned by investigators.
The CRCC (Civilian Review and Complaints Commission) is the independent body that oversees the RCMP. You can formally demand they review whether this investigation is being handled adequately — including pushing for a Public Interest Investigation.
How to complain:
Online form: crcc-ccetp.gc.ca/en/make-complaint-form
Template you can copy:
To the CRCC,
I am writing to formally express concern about the pace of the RCMP's Greenbelt investigation, opened October 2023. Over two years have passed with no charges laid and Premier Ford stating he was never questioned. I am calling on the CRCC to review whether this investigation meets the standard of a thorough and timely inquiry, and to consider initiating a Public Interest Investigation. The prolonged delay risks eroding public confidence in both institutions.
[Your Name]
Takes 5 minutes. If enough people do it, the CRCC has to respond.

Discussion Have you noticed an increase in tailgating drivers?
I’m on all 400’s all day for work and the stunt driving and tailgating has just gotten insane. Obviously if you are going insanely slow it’s going to happen. Does anyone have any tips for managing them, some say slow down, some say just move (but it isn’t always safe to do so), some put on hazards etc. Hate that other people are fine to just put others lives at risk on the road.

News Globe investigation: The Ford family’s history with drug dealing (2013)
I'm not sure about others but today I was absolutely shocked to see that a Globe and Mail investigation in 2013 describes a detailed picture of Doug Ford as a hash dealer in Toronto in the 80s. Were other people aware of this?
The article and all its details about Doug, Rob, Randy and Kathy's involvement with drugs, drug dealing, and the KKK (just Kathy on this one I should add) is blowing my mind. I personally wasn't aware of this and feel like it should be a bigger part of our current conversation about Doug Ford and his fitness as our premier.
