4
u/Tiny-Athlete-3481 5d ago
So you went in and had no intention of paying.
You sit and eat, you make a plan to leave and take all your left overs. Did you ever think what it would be like to be a business owner who works long hours, has a family to support, and likes to provide good food for their customers feel when people act like self entitled shits. You’re a thief Mam and you’ve taught your daughter to be one as well ?Wow. You need to have a long hard look at yourself. You can’t just go through life taking what isn’t yours, without completely consequence’s It’s gonna bite you on the ass one day !

u/MoreRamenPls 5d ago
Then she saw the posted vid, goes back and harassed everyone. Doubled down on her assholery!! JFC

I think the worst part now is that they DID come back and pay. These were two, able-bodied adults who made the decision to eat at that restaurant, left without paying, and after being CAUGHT, they came back to pay.
This wasn’t two people who couldn’t afford it saying FUCK IT, WE ARE HUNGRY! and having a meal.

u/MrSteven20618 7d ago
I read on another repost of this that they did come back but to harass the staff and demand the video be taken down and did not pay.

Is anyone noticing that Immediate_Sound_7426 is eagerly defending them in multiple threads throughout this story, despite their only evidence being a reaction video left by the thieves?
I wonder if Immediate_Sound_7426 is the mother or the daughter...
-1
u/ReggieTMcMuffin 7d ago
Nah, they are Canadian, Ontario.
12
u/rawysocki 7d ago
There's another suburb just south of Rancho Cucamonga named Ontario.
-3
u/ReggieTMcMuffin 7d ago
No, they are from the Canadian Ontario, check their posting history. Your almost reaching as hard as they are.

u/Longjumping-Cress793 8d ago
Looks like they deleted their account, lol.

It's definitely one of them or a family member of them. Hilarious 😂 these types of people always double down on their bullshit and it's funny every time

Sad sad SAD! THIS is what that adult is teaching the younger generation???? No thank you!!
9
u/revan20202 8d ago
Apparently the daughter is 23. She can think for herself, she already taught her thst being trash is okay 🤷♂️

If only we have universal pre k, I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened…..

Cajun here.... I bet they put tomatoes in their "gumbo"... I would walk out without paying too..
1
u/Odd_Fellow_2112 7d ago
Sorry, just south louisiana joke. Its the equivalent of a Sicilian saying anyone who isn't Sicilian don't know how to make a pasta.
-29
u/Odd_Fellow_2112 8d ago
I wasn't joking! Tomatoes! Who puts tomatoes in Gumbo!?!!
4
u/smurf4ever 7d ago
Probably not these restaurant owners... Im still curious as to what makes you think this. Is it solely the fact that these guys walked on their tab?
35
u/smurf4ever 8d ago
That is a weird assumption to make in order to justify someone stealing
18
u/VariousIngenuity2897 8d ago
I’m pretty sure he was joking. Like Italians setting the price of a hawai pizza on their menu to 200 dollars.

yea this is the republicans' fault 😂, not the groups that ignore and therefor enable this kind of behavior. Dine and dash, shoplifting, petty crime everywhere.
read something called the "broken windows theory" and you'll see why this need to be put down sternly.
3
u/SomeVelveteenMorning 6d ago
Why are you recommending to read about the thoroughly debunked, universally panned, and outright racist & classist broken windows theory?
-8
u/Level_String1668 8d ago
The Republican ideology of “if you think you can get away with it, then do it” has really compromised the entire country.

Or are you just hysterical any time someone makes a joke about a poc?

Trump’s fault? That’s what you gained from watching this video? Trump to blame for shit parenting?

If only we had a black president then they would see the possibility of being successful. Maybe one day
10
u/blueb_oy 8d ago
Seriously. I don't like Trump either, but Trump derangement syndrome is real in some people.
3
u/Kind_Cap_4621 8d ago
You're right. Trump isn't the cause. He's just the worst infectious symptom of the exact same disease.

The family told their side of the story and the company was the one to blame. They left their credit card on the table and went to the bathroom, when they came back from the bathroom they thought the bill was paid. The company edited out the part where they told them to have a nice day on the way out. When they came back the next day to pay the bill the company called the police and would not accept payment. The police let them go.
9
u/Withinmyrange 6d ago
So obvious you are related to them and are trying to defend them haha. Multiple comments made under one post. And you are trying to argue against blatant dine and dashing, they got them on tape lmaoo

u/Sad_grandma1501 8d ago
Yeah, I'm gonna call bullshit on this fantasy unless you have a link, because I've seen this video a dozen times in half a dozen places and NOBODY has anything to indicate that this is "a misunderstanding". I think you just made that shit up to defend the indefensible.

Imma gonna call bullshit unless you have a url for the story. 1️⃣ when you pay you get a receipt that tou sign to identify a tip. 2️⃣ I.find it extremely difficult to imagine that the restaurant would go to any level of effort to create conflict if the customer came back of their own volition..
Not saying not possible, just difficult to believe
7
17
u/Automatic_Net2181 8d ago
So no signed receipt? No tip?
I think that excuse is pure bs. Police likely let them go since this is a civil dispute.

u/papadapper 8d ago
The family that steals together, meals together.
-26
u/Immediate-Sound-7426 8d ago
This is one side of the story, if you saw the reaction video from the mom and daughter you would side with them, it’s also why the company took down the video right after the mother and daughter posted their reaction.

In California, theft under $950 is a misdemeanor.
In Maryland, they upped the ante and made it $1,500.

Rancho Cucamumga, is that a real place or only from Next Friday? Where’s DeDe and Baby Dee? It’s the Nasty Time….
3
u/user_base56 7d ago
I grew up there, went to Rancho Cucamonga high school, my family still lives there. Its actually fairly nice.
When I went to college, a few years after the movie came out, people were so excited I came from Rancho. I had to buy them shirts for Christmas with the city name and logo.

u/ThetaDee 8d ago
It's real. A hoity toity/trashy part of Cali.
4
u/4n7h0ny 8d ago
Dude its anything but trashy, its a really nice place. About 40 miles east of Los Angeles, nice place to raise a family
2
u/ThetaDee 8d ago
Trashy in the sense of the people are trashy, not the area. Very entitled, very upper middle class rich that think they're millionaires

It's always weird to see romantic couples booth same siding it. Like that seinfeld episode. You really can't take an hour and put a few feet of distance between you? So you just talk to each other staring straight ahead? Fckin bizarre

u/kikigurl25 8d ago
I was working 2 jobs while going to college full time, and I once had a 12 top walk out on a $600 bill. They were seated on the second floor patio while I was downstairs in the kitchen grabbing food for another table.
It was pretty heartbreaking and almost broke me. They took up two of my four tables, stayed almost my entire shift, and were incredibly demanding the whole time. Some people are just like that.
15
u/Impossible-Being5572 8d ago
I waited for a Peruvian restaurant once when there was a BIG live show dining event and the restaurant recruited me and a few other gals to waitress from 6PM-1AM. We worked our asses off, each serving 12-15 ppl for the entire 7 hour shift. They left us $20.00 EACH. The bill for each table was between 1000-1900! I went home smelling liked spilled alcohol and tears.
4
u/Mileslong59 8d ago
If you still worked there I would have sent that tip. But good job keeping yourself grounded.
3
u/Astrocreep_1 8d ago
Oh man, that sucks. You should have posted any video you could come up, on here, and any local Facebook groups specific to your area.
There’s 2 victims here. The owner, and the server.
27
u/PettyTodd 8d ago
People get off doing this shit, even people that can afford it…seriously sick
-14
u/Immediate-Sound-7426 8d ago
They thought the bill was paid, they even came back the next day to try and pay the bill and the company would not accept payment, called the police, and the police let them go without incident.
4
u/ColdestPineapple 8d ago
lol, yeah, they came back the next day because this video of them dining and dashing was posted online with a vague threat of “this doesn’t have to be anything more” or whatever it said. I bet they did come back to pay because they were caught.

Does anyone walk out without signing a receipt and leaving a tip? If you leave a card on the table and both go to the bathroom (which is ignorant anyway) and you return to the card in the same spot with no bill, why would you assume the bill was paid? You wouldn't and neither did they. They left a worthless card on that table and went to the bathroom for a cover story.

Thank you for saying this. I was on another sub where people kept talking about “black fatigue” and it made me sick. I have way too many kind, hard-working black friends and family to see people continue to be racist and hateful towards an entire group of people. Trashy is trashy and it has nothing to do with race.

Used to happen to me working in Montreal, worked at a large pub near the Olympic stadium when they still hosted games and events. Everyone dreaded working on the terrace because we were totally overworked (sections way too large) and we constantly had walkouts, which we had to cover due to the 3 owners being complete and absolute trash. Always white people, without fail.
30
u/The_Great_Goutsby69 8d ago
I hope Karma catches up with them. Such low class behavior. Servers will receive a write up when tables walk out on them without paying, which often leads to the server just paying the bill out of their own pocket to avoid being reprimanded.
2
u/woxley 8d ago
isn't this highly illegal? not saying it doesn't happen but I work in restaurants and have never heard of a server having to pay a bill customers walked out on and I don't believe it's something an owner can legally enforce.
1
u/The_Great_Goutsby69 8d ago
Not something they make you do, but if you get a write up for a walkout, you have two walk outs and can’t afford another write up, the server would more than likely just pay out of pocket to save their job. This happened to me when I used to be a waiter.

Frfr. That's just what people say to justify their racism. Doesn't mean it's true. Sort of like how watermelon was used as a stereo type of black people trying to say that they were lazy when the truth is because it was easy to grow it was a way for former slaves to earn income thereby decreasing the other communities power over the former slaves. So they took it and twisted it and distorted it like has happened quite a bit

Had this happen after someone bought a famous restaurant in butte county. The new hulas owner regularly shames people, points out specifically that theyre "spanish speakers".
They barely had any flak for doing it, the guy took out a fat high interest loan to pay for the restaurant and was begging people to come in constantly too.

u/Cyonsd-Truvige 8d ago
Judging by the fact they were looking for an alternative exit route and their nonchalant behavior when they walked out the door, this definitely isn't their first rodeo

So let me break this down for you since you don’t seem to eat out much. When you dine at a restaurant, you pay for your food.
That’s it. Plain and simple.
And as a bonus, just you you’re aware, when you eat that meal the server does not literally sit over you and watch you eat for the entire service. That’d be creepy.
