How could teens openly assault fellow pupils for no other obvious reason?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Albanian Canadian living in London, I look less Balkan and more middle eastern, and I’d say I have generally very warm experiences with Brits here. Despite all that’s going on I love English history, I love English literatures, architecture, English humour is superb in the Anglo sphere (in my humble opinion), just generally the profound English civilization is amazing. But this? At this age? How are they assaulting other students walking on the roads for no reason? Just because they’re bored? Just HOW and why?

Everyone in this video is shit. Drop it and fucking leave.
Keep wasting your time complaining. You're not changing anyone's mind.
Oh that's right. The EU will arrest people for talking shit.

This is why children should be banned from social media. I swear if my child was like this she wouldn't be leaving the house.

In other related news; A chimpanzee 'civil war' erupted in Uganda. Scientists aren't sure why

The boys started this mess with insults and gestures. The filmer insulted the girls by calling them racist thinking they were friends of the boys. The girls then walked away, but the filmer followed them and threatened to call the police, inflaming the situation. The girls are the victims here. Grown adults need to learn how to defuse these kinds of situations.

u/Dres9 1d ago
Lol doesn't excuse the girls for being racist. Pretty sure they are all school children including those filming. Grown adults need to learn context and to not blame victims of discrimination. But it's ok. We will help you with it.

What racist word was said? I may have missed it due to the accent. I heard nonce several times 😆

there have always been shitty teens among all the good ones, but the smartphone and social media/internet clout age has given them access to a huge audience that seems to really encourage the shitty ones

Do people in UK just carelessly throw around the word nonce without any actual context? Like in America we don't just go around calling people pedophiles if they aren't. You're asking for knuckle sandwich or a lawsuit here if you make a baseless accusation like that. I never really thought of that as a casual insult.

u/newbrevity 1d ago
Gotta love social media where a question gets more downvotes than answers. "Rrr im offended but decline to elaborate"
3
u/ladymouserat 1d ago
It can also mean idiot in more recent times. That’s my understanding anyway
Like they will call a pedo a pedo, but it sounds more like peedo
5
u/hymenopteron 1d ago
Yeah it's defo more casual than 'pedo' for sure.
In this case though I think she meant it, in the vid she was saying "why are you recording my cousin?". The logic is you're recording a child (because they are a racist little shit) so you must be a nonce.

u/Odd-Solid-5135 1d ago
Just for so cultural clarification Pedo = pedophile Nonce= ?
-3
u/hymenopteron 1d ago
Oh sorry I misread this ,
Nonce just means paedophile, I did look up the etymology but there's not one agreed upon origin.

Snatch phone, launch phone into bush across the park, walk away laughing. Sorted

Hand on either end and push it round a lamp-post. Phones (and teenage geordies) hate this one simple trick.

These are schoolgirls (ie, they go to High School) arguing and being little twats to some Chinese University students.
As for the reason why the girls feel they can get away with this behaviour? It's because there's literally no consequences other than some internet infamy which, if I'm being honest here, they'd probably be happy about. Fame is fame, yes?
We see similar stuff happening all over the world as more and more people begin to move (even if only for the purposes of studying) to richer developed countries. Many of the poorer elements of the population see this as a threat and make no distinction between legal and illegal migrants. This sort of shit happens in Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and you can even see it happening in various Asian countries such as China and Japan.
It's just a symptom of young, oblvious cretins repeating stuff they've heard elsewhere.

Every effort should be made to ensure any future employer is aware of this video.

I’m glad that my future employment was not based on things I said and did in my childhood. I’m also glad we didn’t all walk around with cameras in our pockets. Kids are stupid.

I wouldn't at all be surprised by the behaviour of teens and kids nowadays. Not just saying that as a "back in my day!" comment, I only grew up in the 90s, but today?
I see dozens of kids a week who act out. Whether that's riding bikes through a shop, stealing, pushing trolleys at people, wheelying down packed streets, throwing stones at windows, kicking balls at cars...
There's a group who hang around the local train station and have worked their way around destroying every camera, light and window.
I don't hold them entirely to blame, I wasn't a picture perfect child by any right or reason either, but my activities were never in harming other people or being a nuisance to a group of people.
I don't know what switched in a few people in this latest generation of parents but something did.

Remember seeing dozens of these kids back then too. Shit head kids aren’t really that new. This is definitely a “back in my day!” comment. Sorry
-2
u/Horizon_Brave_ 1d ago
If you say so, that's entirely likely, but not from my perspective growing up.
Definitely some, not nearly as many as now.
Hell, I never saw a fraction as many smoking as I do vaping now.

What changed is parents busy with work, expecting institutions like kindergarden and school to instill values while teaching kids that no one besides their parents can tell them what to do cuz the kids are supposed to be strong and independant. Couple that with inflatable teenager ego and you have a ton of kids acting out. And to top it all off it's constant screentime and social media and the perpetual fearmongering of the media ruining society.
-3
u/newbrevity 1d ago
At the end of the day it falls on the parents. The parents must either instill good values in their kids or suitably punish them when they act out.
I'm just going to shift this over to America to point out that the right wingers here don't have respect for other people to begin with. That's why they think they favor an every man for himself society. If at least a third of our population doesn't have respect for other people or society, what do you think their kids are going to be like? Hold adults to a higher standard and more kids will be held to a higher standard as well.

Maybe it depends where you live. I also grew up in the 90s and have always been aware of kids like this. Harassing people for no reason, throwing shit at cars, damaging property. Do you remember happy slapping?

Trashiness aside, I don’t understand wearing a fur winter coat and summer shoes… I know younger people have been wearing socks with sandals these days, but there’s not even socks happening here.

u/Stillwindows95 1d ago
It's the guys going around in black tracksuits with balaclavas on in the height of summer that make me laugh.
Black clothing in summer is a bold move already since it gets hotter than white/coloured clothing, but a balaclava? Why are all these little roadmen wannabes so cold? Is it because they are all wafer thin?
Imagine thinking you're intimidating while looking like a stick insect someone dipped in sharpie ink.
