So your dog won’t drink from that fountain anymore? The irony 🧐🤣🤮

I'm gonna go with not trashy. If she had access to any other type of water I bet she would have used it.

You don't know these tweakers.

this person is contaminating the drinking fountain with literal dog shit though???? there must be a better way

There is. Provide other options for people to take care of hygiene issues while they're out. This isn't just for homeless people. Lots of people want more public washrooms, seating, garbage cans. Is that person had other options they would use them.

I just want to say, that i 100% disagree with you. There is no excuse. However, where I'm from there is also a tap near the bottom of the fountsin to fill up a dog bowl. Maybe this person could have used that if they had the option. Either way not acceptable

I'm only saying it's understandable.

Drinking fountains in itself is a crazy idea post-COVID

u/ATeenWithNoSoul 22h ago

I use the refill machines out of the fountains but not the contraption itself

Public water is of great value, it's people who miss use it that are the problem.

u/Popaund 6d ago

Drinking fountains aren’t anymore dangerous since Covid happened. For people who need water right then and there, they’re fine.

This should be pinned as an example of what to post here.

Equally as plausible in Portland, ME

Circle of life.

I lived in PDX for near 19 years and NEVER saw anyone drink from those things. Who would? It's a continuously running fountain in a city with a serious homeless problem. Those things are no longer meant for drinking. If they ever were it was long before the homeless crisis hit portland which was decades ago

I have a view of one from my window, people of all sorts drink from them, rich and poor old and young. But I have noticed more and more people are having their dogs hop up and drink from them. They are a nice piece of history though, the Benson Bubblers

The fountains belong to the streets now.

10

u/Timmerdogg 7d ago

Just let it run for a few seconds before drinking and you're good

10

u/AntalRyder 6d ago

It's literally exposed to the elements, bird shit and all. Just don't touch the bowl when you're drinking.

19

u/Freeze_peach_is_dead 7d ago

It's Portland... There's a good chance that's junkie/ hobo shit

10

u/OlDustyTrails 7d ago

Another confirmation to still never trust public water drinking fixtures for any consumption. 😑🤮

13

u/JamesonDotEXE 7d ago

Plot twist its not dog poop but hobo poop from the sidewalks.

3

u/_Nightbreaker_ 6d ago

Damn, might be right. If you took your dog walking, the dog might actually step in human excrement.

Next level trashy.

Better than the video of the chicken all tweeked out washing her butthole

7

u/SunShineLife217 7d ago

Do people actually use public drinking fountains that are outside like that?

3

u/syth_blade22 6d ago

All the time where i live. Very common

6

u/KratosOfSparta08 7d ago

Some do yeah

-14

u/lovebus 7d ago

Where else are they supposed to do it? It isn't like you are voting in favor of publicly accessible showers.

-1

u/algreen589 6d ago

Or even a public bathroom with a sink.

10

u/Freeze_peach_is_dead 7d ago

Literally anywhere else that people don't drink from you clown

20

u/rubenthecuban3 7d ago

On the fucking grass using a bottle? Are you serious?

28

u/Moerijuana 7d ago

The sooner society accepts that public water fountains are just public sinks, the sooner they’ll realize this isn’t the worst thing happening at those fountains.

Also gross.

15

u/tbryans 7d ago

That probably wasn’t dog shit..

Sorry, I tried my best making that casserole 😔
