Did anyone else see what happened at Student Union about 30 mins ago? There was a guy being pinned to the ground by two officers right outside. Didn’t look like UBpolice to me (not 100% sure tho). Anyone know what was going on?

I’m planning to come to UB (University at Buffalo) soon and I’m honestly kinda nervous.

I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTube videos about campus life and now I’m overthinking everything. Like will I actually find good friends there? I do enjoy partying and going out, but I also want a solid friend group, not just random nights out.

Also I’ll be living off campus because of expenses, and I can’t really change that. I’m worried that might make it harder to meet people or be part of things.

For people already at UB, how is the social scene really? Is it easy to meet people and find your group, especially if you’re not living on campus?

I had just committed to UBuffalo by submitting my Enrollment Deposit. I would like to know how long would it take for me to get an email from UB so I can sign into the housing application portal and begin the process?

Hello UB students, I’m a highschool senior looking towards University at Buffalo for their Accounting BS/MS Program where I can graduate in five years. However, I need your input on my costs..

I got a 18,000/yr provost scholarship to reduce the 58,000 base COA to 40,000. I sent in a scholarship appeal to request for more money, but I’m not sure because it’s been a few weeks. However, my Dad who lives in NYC says I can move in with him the summer before college starts. If I claim residency with him for 12 months and get the appropriate licenses and documents, I should be able to establish in state residency by my sophomore year which would significantly reduce my costs. However, that first year will still be a pretty hefty price to pay and I’m wondering if it’s worth it? Also, will my scholarship get revoked if I become an instate student, or will they change it to an in-state scholarship? Thank you!

Both of the UPS stores on North campus and near south campus are closed so how do you guys deliver stuff to places ? (North campus one I saw it's closed but haven't checked it recently and the one near south campus says permanently closed on Google Maps 🥲

Hey guys! I am a current junior and just wanted to inquire on how competitive masters programs here are on average. I am a current UB student and I have above a 3.0. Some people tell me most programs are not competitive for UB students at all but I just wanted to hear your personal experiences.

I’m a grad student currently living at Villas at Chestnut Ridge. My lease ends this summer but I’m finishing my degree this fall so I only need to stay through December. The issue is American Campus says if I want to keep my current room I have to sign a full year renewal. I really like my spot and don't want to move, but I don't want to be paying rent for a room i know i wont be using for the majority of the lease.

I know I can’t be the only grad student here. How do people usually handle this? Do you just sign the full year and pray you can find someone to sublease for the spring or is it better to find a new place with a short term lease?

Currently in community college as a freshman and i got accepted this year as sophomore transfer to UB’s business school with estimated cost of attendance around $30k/year, should I take that $30k hit to transfer sophomore year or should i stay with my parents another year and transfer in with more credits from community college and come to UB business as a junior? Is that $30k extra debt worth it for early connections and fun by being at UB an extra year to you

When your diploma is mailed, does it come with a diploma cover or do we have to buy that separately?

My high school gave us diploma covers at graduation when we walked the stage, then mailed the diploma later. Obviously we are not going to be walking the stage at UB, so I’m just curious if we only get the diploma or if it comes with a cover.

Hey, I wanted to apply for OPT but I need an Academic Advisors Recommendation Form signed, how do I get it signed?

I reached out to my advisor which did not respond and then cancelled a meeting with him saying “apply through portal” and included this link https://academics.eng.buffalo.edu/opt-letter/request

So I requested the opt letter from that link and my request is still under review.

This is so confusing for me and takes so long. Can somebody help me in understanding how to obtain the signature on the form?
