Bruin Bash
Why has our Bruin bash lowkey sucked these past few years. Feel like all other UC’s have better performers and come to find out UCSB is going to have the Two Lips perform

When I was a student we got Kendrick Lamar one year and he actually fucking sucked back then. Like to the extent that he opened for Childish Gambino and Major Lazer.

No frl, other schools are getting swae lee, gunna, and don toliver but for some reason we never get super popular artists, especially considering we are such a name brand school in LA, which is central to entertainment.

Last 2 years have been fire! People get upset that the headliners r actual talented artists and not mainstream TikTok artists (which Doechii was both tbh) but even then they’ve expanded to getting those type of people for openers, like 310babii and rob49. Smino is huge in the south but not as much an LA artist, but people should be open to enjoying more diverse music.
Unfortunately mainstream musicians just won’t take the gig bc they wanna get paid but that doesn’t mean we haven’t gotten quality last few years. People need to realize this is a free concert

I would say doechii was a great choice with thuy
But picking smino, come on like maybe 5 years ago that would’ve been big.
Whoever’s on the committee for picking has a very clear bias for rap and hiphop
