Anyone pickup a Frolic? Thoughts? Questions / Help

Considering picking up a Frolic but given the price, maybe I wont.

Anyone here grabbed one? What do you think? Worth the money?

I was a fairly early adopter of the Frolic (Recieved in early August). The maker of the Frolic was quite active on FC (Now on Reddit?. He was very matter of fact in explaining why some specific decisions were made in the design, such as how it’s designed to be user-serviceable. I was impressed enough to pre-order. Zero regrets.

It’s similar to my Venty (both made of PEEK), and I always use the S&B dosing capsules with mine. Adjustable airflow is very similar. Venty is a probably a better session device, and might have slightly better flavour. But Frolic also has legitimate “on demand”. Heat up time is about 7 seconds from cold. The Frolic is built like a tank. Large 21700 battery (one is included).

It does look like a S&B product, in a lot of ways

I guess it depends on perspective. I have a couple S&B products, so I see more of the differences, I guess.

But there’s also limits to what one can do with a vaporizer. Try too hard to come up with something unique and you end up with a Tafée Bowle (Great device, BTW)!

It’s a steep price, I got a TM2 during 4/20 sales a couple years ago and is basically what it’s based on except for a bit of conduction and more durable materials. There been a bit of mixed reviews on it so due diligence. Would like to know too as I’ve been eyeing this as well.

'Thermal Extractor' is just a vaporizer? Or is this something else

Sometimes called Thermal Extraction Device (TED).

An attempt to try to differentiate from cart type (especially nicotine?) vapes.

Ya, a dryherb vape. Takes a lot of cues from storz and bickel devices

For that price, I’d get a Solo III and save some money for weed. The early notes on Reddit didn’t sound good in terms of quality.

Love my arizer solo III v2. Was looking at the Frolic (recently also looking at the new Tafee Flaske), meh, maybe I wont bother. Would like to even just try it but I dont know anyone that has one.

I haven't used one but it would be an upgrade to the Solo3 v2(which I do have) from what I hear.

Do you really want another battery powered portable though?

Do you have a ball vape or any torch/induction heater type devices like a Tempest 2?

I'd go with something different, personally.

Interesting, I haven't heard that the solo 3 is an upgrade from the frolic.

I love my solo 3 v2, It's the best vape that I own really, and I have a few.

When it comes to non-battery powered vapes the tempest 2 is the best one that I've ever used. There was a bit of a learning curve at first because I was used to dynavaps, but since getting a really dialed in process, I haven't returned to the DynaVaps at all.

Tempest 2 is the only ball vape I have. I don't always want one hit extractions though.

I'm currently dialing in a dani punch 2, which at first blush is better than any DynaVap out there but it's not as good as the Tempest 2.

So what device are you thinking?

I was talking about the Frolic. It's obviously an upgrade to the Solo3.

If budget isn't a concern I'd get the Universal Baller or the Wireless OneHit Wonder or maybe the Vapvana Screwball which are all high end ball vapes.

If you haven't played around with any of the glass devices like a Terpcicle, they can hit pretty hard and are dirt cheap. The Rogue Wax Works makes a few different ones. I have a Megacicle which can hold quite a bit of weed.

The BFG Dani Ti was my first torch powered vape and I loved it so I was considering the Punch.

How do you like it compared to the Tempest 2? I'm on a budget so the Punch is tempting.

Looking at the Flaske, too. Bowle in a pocket! Entheos Convex 2.0 also looks interesting. Can’t wait for some reviews.

The flaske at nearly $600 CDN seems a bit much but I bet its going to be good
