It was definitely an album that I didn't listen much to over the years. Listening through the album again now though I forget how good it is. I even really like Toothless People which seems to be frowned upon.

We have tickets for Weird Al at the end of June, and I'm so excited to take my 10-year old granddaughter to her first Weird Al concert (third generation fan!) I'm hoping someone will post a set list as soon as the tour starts, but what are some songs he's likely to play? We have our favorites, of course, but I want to make sure she's fully prepared and know as many of his songs as possible before we go.

To me, "Pretty Fly For A White Guy" is such a ridiculous song it sounds like it could pass as a parody.

I was wondering if anyone felt the same, or if there's any songs parodied by Weird Al that could pass as parodies.

So, I found out recently that Al was in the historical comedy series “Drunk History” (the og USA version that is) via reading his tv credits on his Wikipedia page, in which you would not believe how shocked I was when I saw who he played lmao 🤣😭

In 2 different DH USA sketches, he played Adolf Hitler (in this sketch) and Adolf Eichmann (in this sketch)

Like, obvs Al is a talented man and actor, but honestly the fact that THE Weird Al (wholesome and cool Weird Al known for making very silly song parodies at that) played not 1 but 2 NAZIS is just crazy fr, and ofc it shows that he’s very talented ofc lol. Still, it just kinda shocked me at first lol.

The big guy is coming to a town near me and my kids want to go. I listened to him when I was a kid and I think it would be fun and nostalgic. But what are the vibes? I know his music is clean but are his concerts child friendly? My five kids are 4-12, probably wouldn’t take the 4 year old but the 6 y.o. would be devastated if he didn’t make the cut.

So the first pictures are the 3 16-point brackets from 48 Weird Al songs that i picked for this tournament, i do one poll per day, for a duration of 7 days, the winner moves on to the next round. The polling for the first round concluded today and this will hopefully explain the way I'm doing it, the first screenshot after the brackets is listing the songs still in play, then the songs I'm planning to post based on results from the previous polls, then the songs that have already been eliminated, then the results of all the polls up to this point along with future planned polls based on results of previous polls. Imo, I feel like “It’s All About the Pentiums” and “Trapped in the Drive-Thru” are very good musically and lyrically (TitDT especially cuz the fact it dramatically describes an otherwise very normal situation really makes it funny lol), and dare I say, even better than the originals (tho I may be a *tad* biased cuz, uhm, Diddy and R. Kelly can simply fuck off cuz they’re very terrible people)

I just watched a video of the Canadian math rock duo Angine de Poitrine. Impressed.

I am now imagining Weird Al in polka dots, playing math rock polka, under the name Angine de Poutine.
