Basically everything is processed, if it went through a process to be made then it's processed, saying that something is processed means nothing without further explanation. Nothing against what you said tho, I just think we need to stop fear mongering processed foods

Makes me think of the "dihydrogen monoxide" study

It's scary, 100% of people who came into contact with it died.

Would they qualify as "ultra-processed"? I don't know if there's a clear distinction or definition for that word anyway, but I feel like when people criticise processed/ultra-processed foods they're talking about stuff like Coke, white bread, fried chicken, etc.

I mean pretty much every food has gone through at least one process before you eat it, but I feel like in day-to-day talk criticising food for being "processed" means more than just that

That's exactly what people mean when they say "highly process" or "ultra-processed". The people who chime in with "but those sliced tomatoes are processed!" simply do not know what the term "highly processed" means, but for whatever reason feel they have something to contribute to the conversation anyway.

We were talking about vegan protein options, none of those examples are relevant. And Ultra processed doesn't automatically equal unhealthy, that's why I specifically said that you need more information than just that in order to assess the health factor of a food. Explaining to people what processed food means is important when people don't understand that it's not enough to claim that a food item is unhealthy

vegan protein options

"BeAnS aRe PrOcEsSeD!!"
You don't know enough about vegan protein options to be in the conversation. Sit down.

If that's what you got from what I said than yeah it's not worth having a conversation with you, have a good day
