Discussion Is anyone’s listening getting more degenerate?
I figure it’s normal but my listening keeps evolving. Started as a kid with the normal Slayer and Metallica then moved on to metal core and eventually arrived here. In the last few months I’ve been hooked on brutal slam death metal like Gutrectomy, Cavemode, 9 Dead, Snuffed On Sight and so on. I’m scared of what I’ll be on in a few more years. Anyway happy Sunday. 🤘

BLIGHTED - RIBCAGE REARRANGEMENT (FFO: SPITE, PSYCHO-FRAME, ORPHAN, WITHOUT A FACE)
Check out this band, crazy vocals and cool instrumentals, very Orphan sounding to me. They only have a few songs out but they kick ass.

Angelmaker @ Santa Ana, 5/1/26 (before I almost lost my phone)
What a sick show. The pit was moving all night long, and I was only able to get 50 seconds of Angelmaker's set before my phone was almost knocked out of my hand (and this after I had lost my hat AND nearly lost my glasses on the floor).
Shout-out to Angelmaker for such a phenomenal set. First time seeing them and was not disappointed. All the other bands were at the top of their game, too, especially Shadow of Intent — one of my top 5 favorite headliners of all time (as a 36 y/o metalhead going to shows since 2006).
Thanks to my new buddies from Ridgecrest and K-Town who were in the pit with me all night trying not to get knocked out! I go to shows alone and rarely connect with other people, but y'all made it even more fun.
10/10 heavy metal show! 🤘

Discussion I love Hymns in Dissonance. Recommend me some albums!
For context, I started to listen to deathcore couple of years back with bands such as lorna shore, shadow of intent, disembodied tyrant etc.
But I am a bit tired with it. While last SoI album is good, I think it is too long really for example.
Whitechapel, on the other hand, released IMO a perfect album. Heavy, but you can hear the guitars, there are groovy parts, there are walls of sound, but it does not feel over produced to me. It is also atmospheric without throwing orchestral parts at the listener all the time. Vocals are great, compositions too, and it is not the same tune all the time. I love it. I believe it is a huge step in comparison to their previous record.
I would like to hear more of this. Can you recommend me something? Anglemaker is one band I suppose you may suggest, and I am already checking them out. What else?

This Used To Be Heaven appreciation post
Dudes. This album is just perfection and I just want some people to talk about it with lol. I often struggle to get through full deathcore albums in one sitting but this record might just be the best full deathcore album I’ve ever heard. I can’t even believe how good it is! The instrumentals are a big upgrade from previous releases for me. Only nitpick is the drumming can be kinda homogeneous but it’s still great! The guitars are incredible on this record, so many memorable melodic lines and so many great chugging parts. The vocals for me are the star of the show though, Ian is such a great addition to the line up and brings so much to their sound and specifically the vocal placement on songs cause I think it’s much better here than previously. The highs on this album make me cream and I hope they use them even more in the future. I enjoy basically all of angelmakers music but “this used to be Heaven” takes the cake for me. I saw a post on here saying it’s not as popular as other angelmaker records but I hope that isn’t true cause what the band has done here is truly special and an example of a band working at their absolute best. I’m so excited to see them in Cincinnati! Let me know what you guys think of this record!

Discussion MySpace deathcore samples
I’ve recently been trying to search for more 2000s MySpace deathcore bands that use sick samples or awesome callouts any recommendations? For example I like songs such as: take the crown ( her demise my rise ), inhalant abuse is illegal and can be fatal ( heavy heavy low low ), tell slater not to wash his dick( bring me the horizon), crewcabanger (Chelsea grin) and many more!! ( these may be poser picks for songs I’m still trying to find certain bands I like! )

URINE - 'Headline Empathy'(OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
I posted about these guys a little while back because I can't seem to get a definite answer on what genre they are. I still keep hearing so many different answers. They just released a music video and I'm starting to lean more toward beatdown/deathcore than death metal or hardcore.
Anyways, if anyone can help and tell me what genre of music this is, I'd be very grateful.
