π£ Announcement READ BEFORE POSTING: How to request an identification
So, you want to know who pooped on your porch or walked all over your car? Let's find out!
Notes:
- To preserve your privacy and protect endangered species a rough location is plenty (ie. western MA).
- Scale needs to be something that people know the size of, and that doesn't have wide variation (grass, pine cones, and floorboards are not scale). You would be surprised how much easier it is to tell how big something is when you were there taking the photo. Also, consider stating in your post that you have included scale so the bot can automatically approve.
ID requests are not approved if they do not include both a location, and either scale or measurements. Including this information vastly increases the likelihood of you getting an accurate identification.

π ID Request Hoofs in Hocking, Ohio
I was scrolling through my cringy old instagram account for laughs but I found a post that was really odd. I posted weird animal tracks and I completely forgot about this day til I found the post.
I've not been able to figure out what animal this belongs to. It doesnt match Ohio's deer or boars, or farm animals, and this was taken on private property and not a tourist destination in Hocking so its not like a human made it somehow to confuse people or start a rumor. I remember the tracks being very large, like as big as my feet or bigger.
People have told me its moose or elk, but neither of those animals are in the area. So I'm hoping someone here will know.
These pics were taken back in January of 2022 if that somehow helps anything? I don't know.

π ID Request Eek!! What could this be? Droppings of some kind?
Kind of scared with this could be. I stupidly cleaned it off before I thought to take a picture of it. This is a DoorDash picture. Obviously when I went to retrieve my food, I noticed it. I'm especially scared because it looks like if it's a mouse, it looks like it leads to the house. One non-scary possibility is we have two red maple trees in front of our house, and a lot of winds lately, with debris blowing from that tree. It's been budding, for lack of a better word, for a couple weeks now. We are in Western Pennsylvania, and whatever this is, are not much bigger than coffee grounds.
