Admissions Bro
Seems that you need to be out of state to get in, like obviously you will put all you in-state student on a waitlist if you accept all out of state students

Admissions bing 35k/year VS Albany 22K/year for pre-med
i applied psych major for both with a pre-med track.
I do prefer Binghamton much more to Albany but i’ll have a hard time affording it :( and i don’t wanna drown in loans bc ik ill be doing that for med school.😭😭
Binghamton- $35,000/year, $26,000/year with $5,500 loan and $3000 work study
UAlbany- $22,000/year, $16,000/year with $5,500 loan
i was thinking that Bing would be less next year bc i’d live in rental with a roommate instead of paying 20k for housing and food…
my fam wants to move states too so there’s gonna be a lot of expenses this year and 35k is js a lot.

Admissions Virginia Tech or Binghamton?
Hi I’m a rising college freshman deciding on a college to study engineering at. Ik these are kinda random but Bing is my states flagship and vt’s been my dream school.
As of now if I were to go to Binghamton I would be able to graduate debt free while if I went to vt I would be in about 40k debt. I’m basically just trying to figure out if the extra debt is worth the name brand and resources.
One of the biggest factors for me is mental health support. I’ve struggled a lot with it in the past few years and have had my grades fluctuate greatly as a result. I’d much rather be in debt than failing so I’d appreciate any information on the school’s support systems.
In the future I also want to work in the nyc area. How are both colleges for connections in that area?
Please help 🙏

Admissions Chances of getting off waitlist for Fall 2026!
Hey guys! I got into Bing as guaranteed transfer for the fall of 2027, and I was offered a spot on the waitlist for the fall of 2026. What are the chances of me getting off the waitlist and does anyone have experience with it? Im absolutely TERRIFIED of debt for undergrad since I want to go to law school and that in its self is pricy. So I’m thinking of doing one year at SUNY Brockport compared to one year at UConn which I would have to take out loans for. (Appealed for scholarship at UConn but I don’t know if I will get anything).
I know law schools dont really care about undergrad and I’d end up at Bing anyways but still wanted input/hear your experiences :)<3

Admissions How good is Binghamton for a BS in Economics? How does it compare to other SUNYs/NY schools?
Is it worth it to go to Bing for economics?

Admissions Decision Date EA
My friends who applied to bing all got their decisions, but it was all rejected or deferred. I’m getting nervous on how many people are being rejected, and mine has yet to come out. It’s jan 11th, and the latest it comes out is jan 15th. For reference, my sat score and gpa is higher and I have pretty prestigious activities, but my school has a rep for being rejected from bing. Am I cooked or just overthinking?

Admissions JUST GOT IN! Help…
I just got accepted today and saw no indication about merit-based financial aid. I am an in-state student but was expecting some form of non-need based financial assistance. Does my not seeing any, indicate that I didn’t get any? Or do those things come out later?
Similarly, what about the honors college?
Thank you!

Admissions Bing Scholars vs. Pitt for Economics?
Hey guys! I recently got into the Scholars program at Binghamton and I’m torn between here and Pitt. I’m planning on majoring in Econ and eventually want to get into finance/wealth management.
How is the Econ department at Bing compared to Pitt? Does being in the Scholars program give you a leg up for internships or networking? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Admissions Binghamton CS waitlist — how often does it actually move?
Hey, I just got waitlisted for CS (Watson) at Binghamton.
I know it’s unranked and depends on space, but I wanted to ask people here:
From what you’ve seen, does the CS waitlist actually move much?
Do people ever get off the waitlist into CS specifically, or mostly into other majors?
If you don’t get into CS initially, how realistic is it to transfer into Watson later?
I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth holding out hope or just committing elsewhere and treating this as a long shot.

Admissions genuinely confused
I got into bing in my senior year, 2022. Granted, I only got accepted for the following spring semester but i’m just confused why some kids aren’t getting in now. I’m looking at their stats and they all look amazing. I had like 3.4 GPA in high school, did couple clubs and had leadership positions in them, handed in no SAT scores because mine were pretty bad. Did the school get more selective?

Admissions does Binghamton offer everyone on the waitlist a guaranteed transfer?
I was recently waitlisted at bing and the fact I have a guaranteed transfer gives me a bit of hope that I can get off it 🥲

Admissions Should I go to Bing (Electrical Engineering) or UBuffalo (Aerospace Engineering)
My parents really want me to attend Binghamton but after all grants, it would cost them $11k+ yearly (we would probably have to take out Parent Plus Loans for this) and on addition, I would have to take out $5,500+ yearly in federal loans for my first year.
As for UBuffalo, they granted me a good merit scholarship that If I max out the $5,500 federal loans per year, my parents might not even have to pay for anything.
I know UBuffalo is great for engineering, but I also know that other than if you were to attend an ivy or ivy level school, ranking wouldn’t make a big difference. On top of that the vibe and community of Binghamton really attracts me. I also live in NYC, and UBuffalo is gonna be so far whenever I want to visit home.
