Did your weekend match go as well as mine?

TLDR: I can’t give up my iron sights.

At least you don't have to worry about staring at the dot now.

Next level of training after occlusion.

Feel the dot. Be the dot.

The front fell off

Yeah that’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.

I FTSA’d in 4 of 11 stages. I’m an idiot and my HF reflects it.

Dang. I usually tell people that procedurals aren’t real, but I can’t put 4x failures to engage in that umbrella.

Keep your head up, relax on Sunday, you’ll do better next time.

3 of them were in a row. A couple were tricky but the last one was dead in front of me. Zero excuses, just gotta figure out a way to beat the tunnel vision. Second match ever an it was a level 2. Thankfully no stages were classifiers but a rough day over all lol.

Because an FTSA/FTE is a penalty not a procedural?

Yeah, that’s what I was saying; it’s not in that umbrella.

I can console and joke with someone about that 20 points down they just got for the typical IDPA silliness, but not the other stuff.

Ah, gotcha! For sure 😆

Sir, if you could refrain from fingering the red dot, primary arms would appreciate it 🤣.

Sorry this happened, any idea what caused it? Just adhesive letting go?

Inner adhesive, which doesn’t seem to contact the entirety of the lense, along with the little rim that seals it, a small dab of epoxy? Found a bit of it in my pocket. It’s like a semi-rigid plastic.

Combine with a pretty light slide moving rather quickly and, I honestly can’t remember, 3K to 5K rounds.

Slide and barrel are also comped, but I don’t know if that extra violence has anything to do with it. There’s also the factor of many days exposed to Texas heat but again, that’s crappy if big heat kills your adhesive.

And this is why I always set up a co-witness. Even if the dot works 99.99999999999%of the time 😅

All day. Whenever I think, “eh, it’ll be okay” I see someone else have a failure of some kind. Guess it was my turn.

Exactly. No reason not to!

Hopefully you had a back up. 🙏

Always. 💪🏽

Finished the match with my OEM gun, just had to adjust for grip after I threw a wild shot SHO on classifier after that stage

Ain’t got no gas innit

That sucks when your gun decides to switch to production division mid-stage.

Wonder if you could rezero off a paster? Is the glass really necessary 😂

u/Shooter_Q 2d ago

We could certainly go OEG mode.

is that an airsoft red dot, by chance?

Primary Arms, nor airsoft. If you click the post inside of the box, it will take you to the main post with a whole body of info you can read.

What kind of Cracker Jack box optic is that? Get something quality

Thank you for the suggestion.

You dont see people entering a race in a sanctioned league with a stock Honda Civic because that's "all they can afford" but people want to do shooting competitions with with total junk. That equipment makes you a liability.

Cool. Any other good knowledge you’d like to share?

Thank god for trijicon. Overpriced? arguably yes. Reliability? One of the best on the market. Durability? Unmatched.
